We all like to pass the time some how, so what are your current hobbies? Or what is something you'd really love to pick up at some point?

For me, playing computer games is one, obviously! Football (soccer) is another, which I play for a disability club in my city, as a goalkeeper. Acting is one that I have gotten into recently as well, always wanted to act, never did, until now! With acting, I did have my first ever stage performance on Monday, which was fun, it's funny how invisible the audiance become.

Writting is also a hobby, but not too serious of one, I do enjoy it, though don't spend a lot of time doing it outside of the FNS work I do here, I used to do more writing, like stories and poems, but not anymore...

Gaming, though off late gaming has been much less of an interest. Just no titles around that meet my interest as much!

Basketball, Billiards & Coding. First two self explanatory, next time I’m in the UK or US I wouldn’t mind playing billiards along with a few pints with fellow UfP!

In coding I’m currently teaching myself Kubernetes.

For gaming, mostly 3rd person shooters (Division, Anthem, etc), Active-time/turn-based RPGs (Final Fantasy, Dragon's Quest), MMOs (Eve, STO, SWTOR, FFXIV), I stopped playing WoW, the last two expansions killed the game for me. There's also Simulation Games (Cities Skylines, Dawn of Man, Banished, Stellaris, Kerbal Space Program, Civilization)

I also like Table Top games (Pathfinder, Star Trek Adventures)

I write, draw and create art, although not recently (links in my forum sig).

Building Lego things but the last few months I've found myself building models, first it was a 1:271 scale Millenium Falcon and now its snowballed into a full blown model railway in my spare room. a project that's going to take years to finish I might add. so I guess at the moment my hobby is crafting miniatures!

Ye olden gaming is my main hobby, PC being the primary focus. Aside from that one, I quite like my gadgets, tinkering with PC's and I'm into my films too. I've not bought any recently but over the years I've amassed a collection of roughly 1000 DVD's/Blu-Rays.

I've also got my dogs, I like to go out for a nice drive down round the coast and I do a lot of reading on various topics, though strangely enough I'm not that much into books. I used to be pretty good with a bit of creative writing too - that has long since fallen by the wayside, but my imagination is still alive and kicking.

I'm not that interesting to be perfectly honest, just your average joe!

I paint miniature figures, mainly Warhammer 40k ones. I don't do any wargames, I just like painting them up in the Blood Angels colour scheme (it's the army I used to collect twenty years ago when I did play). I think there's some examples of my work lurking in a dark corner of the forum somewhere.

I also write Star Trek: Disavowed that in the Off Topic Forum somewhere. It's still a WIP, I've just been lazy and haven't posted anything up in a while.

I have various hobbies that keep me occupied, some to a greater extent, some lesser, and depending on time, finances, mood, etc. etc...

My main hobby is gaming, of course. I'm 37 years old now, and game on electronics for around 31 or 32 years now. I have an interest in various types of games, though my favourites will always be action based FPS or TPS with some form of realism (e.g. the Tom Clancy games, Arma) and RPGs (e.g. Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Vampire: Masquerade), MMOs (e.g. STO, waiting SC). Other types of games I play from time to time are RTS games, VNs, simulations, and every now and then I go back to space games like Elite: Dangerous, and am still hyped for Squadron 42 and Star Citizen.

Outside of that I love riding my motorbikes. Time on hands + good weather usually means I'll grab the bike, saddle up and go wherever the road takes me to. Sometimes it's a short 40 mile round trip, sometimes it can be a 300+ mile round trip, combined with sight seeing (e.g. castles, fortifications, other historical places, or just landscape / area like the Cotswolds, or seafront, be it Brighton beach or Beachy Head by Eastbourne).

Next to that is airsofting. For those who are not familiar with it, it's in it's simplest forms a bunch of people running around with toy guns shooting each other with 6mm plastic balls. There can be a comparison made with paintball, but imo Airsoft has a more realistic angle to it, from gear set (in terms of buying real military purpose stuff rather than cheap knock offs for airsoft), game modes, especially military simulations, or "milsims", a game type that can range from half a day to three days, depending on how it's setup or who it is run by, it can also mean that you need to find yourself a place to sleep anywhere in the AO, rotate guards so you're not ambushed while napping, ensure food / provisions as needed, and think on a more strategic and tactical level rather than run in, pew pew, run out, regen, run in, pew pew, etc, and similar to that / based on that concept something new I tried last year and hope to do more are CT (Counter-Terrorism training / simulation events), the first one I've done being the unicorn of all (as per the TV Show Seal Team in a recent episode), which involved training and then execution of a tubular assault, in this case training on a Boeing 737 trainer-model and assault on a Boeing 747-200, even better was that on the training day a real life SAS hero from the Iranian embassy siege acted as co-instructor (who also acted as consultant on the movie 6 days, which partly revolved around him).

Music is important too, I can sit for hours on end just listening to various forms of music that stimulate my mind that day, be it extreme forms of Metal like Black Metal, Death Metal, Grind Core, etc., extremer forms of Gothic e.g. Power Noise, Rythm & Noise, and lesser extreme forms e.g. Aggrotech, EBM. Then next moment I'll be listening to Die Antwoord, South African Zef music, kind of a mix of electronics and rap at times, which again can then be followed by epic cinematic music such as Two Steps From Hell, Audiomachine, game / film soundtracks, and on top of that classical music from Beethoven, Mozart, Haendel, etc. etc. Clubbing and gigs as such as well, but usually for the electronic side of my music taste (unless I happen to get time / tickets for something special like a soundtrack concert, etc...). There's also absolutely nothing comparable to enjoying uplifting joyful music while riding the motorbike through the countryside or along the sea front.

History is important to me too, I love history, I love reading up on what happened in the past, what contributed to events, how one thing lead to another and what triggered what, how people lived and dealt with things in the past, what has shaped the world how, which events back in the past still shape things today, etc. And not just the last 100 or so years I'm interested in, but generally, from recent history up to whenever really. One day I may read up more on the Weimarer Republik, another day I'm reading up on movements of Romans vs Germanic tribes, then next thing I find myself reading up on ancient Chinese civilizations, etc. etc... What I also like to do is combining my fascination for history with my joy of motorbike riding, so every now and then I grab the bike and ride out to historical places, of which there are many in the UK, and at some point want to do a bigger historical ride through my home country Germany with a similar purpose, and possibly other European locations.

Similar to games, I like movies / TV shows on the concept of sci-fi, cyberpunk and action stuff, but also drama, and at times emotional stuff, this can be either in live action format or anime. At the moment am rewatching Strike Back Seasons 1 - 6 while watching the latest episode of season 7 weekly, as well as weekly watching NCIS, Seal Team, ST: Discovery. Recent shows I really enjoyed were Vikings, The Last Kingdom (a lot more historically accurate than Vikings around the same time era, but of course also fictionalized and dramatized for entertainment purposes), Love, Death & Robots, Black Mirror, Altered Carbon, and TV documentaries with topics that may catch my attention, be it African wild life (I am after all half South African, so a touch of my other home really ) , bike tours, engineering docu, historical documentaries, etc...

Writing is something I want to do more of, every now and then I have an idea that I add to my growing collection of ideas for a book or series of books, other times I continue on some fan fiction (none published), and depending on mood I write some poetry, usually for myself. Other artsy stuff is all dead at the moment. I used to do more 3D rendering, not creating any models etc. but rather using existing meshes and textures in various Daz3D programs (Daz 3D studio, Cararra), and while I looked into doing more along the lines of 3DS Max or Maya etc, the steep learning curve often stopped me. Another thing I haven't done in a while is video editing using Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects, though once I go out to more airsoft events again, I'll pick that up too again.

At the moment a lot of gaming STO, Xcom 2, Diablo 3 and a few others but also iv been working on streaming with a few friends as of late.
But I would really like to get back to my archery but with the injury to my arm and lack of range at moment it a tad hard to do so but I'm sure il find some were thou i dont help my self playing Airsoft (self punch to face) but with Xcom 2 iv been building the list of custom troopers in the game by taking request and adding people into it.
