A bit of explaining to do here. I recall there were some conversations awhile back about bringing a Romulan character onto our ship and the idea was shot down each time. This was mainly due to the Romulans not being very friendly towards the Federation for centuries and that 2 years following Nemesis (Which took place in 2379 and Ares is in 2381) wasn't enough time for their people to consider letting one of their own join Starfleet. The same could be said for the Cardassians, whom were enemies in the Dominion War 6 years prior. I feel I should explain why I brought up a Cardassian/Human Hybrid who is/was serving in Starfleet in my last story post.
It comes down to their heritage. A 'pure' Romulan or Cardassian wouldn't work due to their people's history of xenophobia. However, a Hybrid, someone with the heritage of several races, is possible if they were raised within the Federation; likely on a backwater colony some distance away from the 'hostile' power's territory. This way they can grow up feeling more like themselves than being under heavy scrutiny from their heritage. The person I brought up used a Human name, so didn't receive the same first impressions as one using a Cardassian name. Although their time in Starfleet Academy was extremely tough, considering the War, but persevered through enough to earn the respect of fellow Cadets.
With the newest Starfleet Officers being less exposed to the Cardassians in their prior conflicts, they are likely to have one of 2 reactions. One would be to accept them as they feel the past is the past and they can move on and begin coexisting. Exposure to them in peace is much different than the hostile meetings during the war. The other reaction would be to carry on dreaming of war and glory, viewing the Cardassians as the enemy. To finally meet one would be to see your enemy for the first time and disown one wearing the same uniform as yours; mixed heritage or not.
I was introducing this character for a few story reasons (don't want to reveal them just yet) but would like to know if anyone is against a Human/Cardassian in Starfleet. I can remove this character from the story as I don't really need him for what I had in mind.

I have zero issues with this plan, it will add some flavour to the character.

I could see that working out, and being a springboard for interesting roleplaying reactions. The person could even be assigned to the Ares on purpose, with Federation News articles about him, as a symbol of moving forward. Some might embrace that or resent him more, thinking he hasn't earned his place.
I would point out though, the easiest hybrid to make would be a Cardassian/Bajoran hybrid, because we know that there were probably quite a few of them. But I can see how a Cardassian/Human hybrid would come to be, especially with prisoners or defectors from one side or another.

No issues here. Just as Worf, a Klingon, serving in Starfleet during a time when Starfleet wasn't on exactly good terms with the Klingon Empire.
Yet, even though he was Klingon, Worf was raised by adoptive human parents. I can see this Human/Cardassian in the same light. As if they grew-up and were raised in the Federation, they would see themselves as a Federation citizen not a Cardassian citizen.
A historical example, Japanese-Americans and German-Americans during WWII. They were born and raised in the United States served with honor and distinction in the US Military. As they saw the US as their home.
For a Romulan, I could see a Romulan raised by a Vulcan or Human parents seeing themselves as a Federation Citizen and not as a Romulan Star Empire Citizen.
I would point out though, the easiest hybrid to make would be a Cardassian/Bajoran hybrid, because we know that there were probably quite a few of them. But I can see how a Cardassian/Human hybrid would come to be, especially with prisoners or defectors from one side or another.
Very plausible for a human mother having a half-Cardassian kid. I mean humans seem to be adaptive with many species. heh.
But I would think a human father and Cardassian mother would have an interesting story.

Speaking of not a good idea for your character; I took a look at your character bio to think through some suggestions on what may be some other good dances to do and noticed what you have down for Sam's age.
I don't think too many people at the age of 47 can do a dance like that even if they are professionals. I think something like a waltz or tango would be better on his health as he's technically old enough to be my character's Dad.
OOF! Totally forgot!
I'll do a minor edit!
EDIT: Replaced with a nice simple(?) foxtrot.
My dancing IRL is down to a little jiggle & shake of the butt. LOL. SORRY FOR BURNING THAT IMAGE INTO YOUR BRAINHOLES!!!

First off, congratulation WelshAvenger!
As I mentioned in my most recent story mission, there have been several posts with information on introducing or providing evidence on our Traitor. Below are the ones with what we know for sure thus far.
Cargo Hold 2's location:
The post with information on Cargo Hold 2 contents; the mission critical supplies along with the Bajoran Extremists' supplies. That's not all that is within that cargo hold so we can also say other things can be found stored there.
It also introduced us to Ensign Wallace Barron.
The post regarding us first spotting the transmission to the Orions. There are posts on the following page (
Page 7) regarding some further discussion on the message.
The post which promoted Dyrell Teriir from Chief Tactical Officer to Captain. In real life, this occurred following Eaglesg's departure from the Roleplay and my being selected to be the new CO in his place.
This post introduced the idea that the sensor network was sabotaged.
The post discussed the sabotage of the sensor network around the Main Settlement on Dorvan V in a conversation between Biiqs and Locke.
This post introduced the device found within the Embassy.
This post discussed 2 things;
First, it provided details on the Embassy device and what it was for.
Second, it brought in the radio silence order.
There is more but some of it has been extremely recent, some already discussed through the plan to capture the traitor, and some I'm wanting to keep quiet about due to the "plot twist" it includes.

Are we still going radio silent? would it be appropriate to put the ship into Yellow Alert?

We're still "radio silent" while making our way to the Diplomatic Reception Lounge as we don't want to risk alerting the Traitor that we may be onto him. The alert will go out shortly after my character gets caught inside the forcefields with him.
