Like the topic says im trying to decide what traits to collect EC for. Im currently a Sci captain but running a Vanguard carrier.

Heres what i have currenty:

Space: Conservation of energy, Context is for kings, fleet coordinator, inspirational leader, particle manipulator, repair crews, enlightened, shield technician, operative.

Im looking for replacements for Shield technician and operative. Got my eyes on Wing Commander but thats it so far.

Ground: Pistols, up close and personal, Acute senses, field researcher, field technichian, vicious, medical vanguard, creative, universal law is for lackeys.

Im looking to keep Lakeys, field researcher, vicious and pistols. Rest is kinda up in the air.

Any advice on what to go for?

At the Fleet K13 Starbase holding you can get advanced versions of the starting basic traits. One which might help you is Advanced Astrophysicist; it boosts EPG, CtrlX etc., all things you'll want lots of on a sci vessel.

The traits are 100,000 Fleet Credits and 21,250 DIL each.

The upgraded pistol skill and upgraded astrophysicist do look interesting. Though astro will be a fallback unless i wond find something better. It cant be compared to traits like Context is for kings, repair crews and Particle manipulator for example on how powerful they are. So looking for more "must have" traits from lockboxes etc to see if one of those can be more useful.

Im currently grinding Doffs and Fleet marks to get enough FC to get the extra trait slots. I dont even have that yet After that its Elite Gunboats. So having 100k for the K13 traits will be pretty far off in the future. It may be quicker to find something better from a lockbox and get it with EC from the exchange.

Anchored, Blaze of Glory, Coalition Starship Tactics, Context is for Kings, Eyes of the Swarm, Fluidic Cocoon, Inspirational Leader, Into the Breach, Lead Foot (A must-have for me), No Retreat - No Mercy, Secret Command Codes

Main Fleet - Starship Traits:

Overwhelming Force / Tactical Retreat, Standoff / Highly Specialized

Speaking of which, Context is for Kings, is one I still need on perhaps a few character's myself yet. But I like the way you think Cmdr Taku, as Secret Command Codes is very nice - especially for Sci toons but can be good for all. I replaced Techie on most characters with the Inspirational Leader, so kind of you to note it's available at fleet bank at a discount.

It's just too bad they didn't offer Superior Particle Manipulator, or Superior Conservation of Energy; as those 'basic' traits I still slot and well before Superior Astrophysicist. Only cause I have Inspirational Leader which can offer more. Yet one should note K13 is Superior trait's, not Advanced.

One need only place an item request in the appropriate forum: FLEET BANK SHOP PURCHASE

Specifics of the transaction will be relayed, and any difficulties in arranging payment (such as not actually having a character in, say, 4th Fleet) will be ironed out. Once payment is made, the requested item(s) will be delivered through the in-game mail system.

The easiest way is to have a character in each Fleet.
The next easiest way is to be invited to a specific Fleet's holdings. I would recommend seeking invitations to the different Fleet Starbases.
Most advanced players and Staff have characters across all of the Fleets. Meetings can be set up, or you can ask in the [UFPlanets] in-game chat.

- psychological warfare (20% bonus control skills effectiveness)
- anchored (you usually sit still when you cast your exotix. 20% bonus exotic damage is good to them)
- inspirational leader (succession of skills adds those 3 stacks fast to your skill bonuses)
- enlightened - 15% exotic damage is a win
- particle manipulator (key trait)
- invasive control ... (One system offline randomly for each enemy affected by a control power - grav well rocks if you run this combined with Pilfered Power)

Ground:
- Vicious
- introspection (ground version of the space - anchored trait. - if you're not a constant mover)
- adrenal release (clickie with +50% all damage output)
- agony modulator (extra damage over time added to your sci kit module skills)
- technophile (key trait)
- lucky (+3% crth, + expose chance)
