Even if it was working as intended (which it is not) it wouldn't matter. You would just slot it in a tac slot and put a tac console in the universal. You lose nothing.

Thats probably intentional. Its enough powercreep as it is so by making people sacrifice a locator for this console they can at least make it a difficult choice. With the exception of miracle worker ships though with their universal slot, when thats fixed.

Interesting! Is there a formula for the diminishing returns from stacking locators or a general agreed upon consensus of what is the minimum amount of locators for maximum effect? Difficult question to answer, i know, due to all the cat1 from other modules. But still, someone should have done some calculations over the years and posted it?

Well when it comes to killing things fast it shouldn't be a problem, if you're asking about DPS chasing I have no clue, not my forte

There is no "diminishing returns" in anything aside from the relationship between damage resistance rating and damage resistance percentage. Even then, I vaguely recalled someone showed there was no actual diminishing returns in terms of eHP. This would strictly be a question of which is better for a specific build.

Though I mainly commented to say: Has anyone complained yet about how terrible all the names are?

Well if something is added multiplicatively rather than additively then the result of the former compared to the latter will be quite significantly worse. And unless im mistaken Cat1 at least is added multiplicatively.

A vulnerability locator is around 2%crth and 36% cat1 energy type damage.

The removal of locators is a decision based on a satisfactory number of critical hits landed in general.

I run my ships with 2x tac colony consoles and 2/3 locators atm.

Guess the two piece discovery set will be torp+wide arc dbb... Console will be approachable for people who aren't using locators or can drop one out.
