[Discussion] - Which Free [T6] Ship Will You Get?

As 'some of us' close in on the Free [T6] ship reward, which ship(s) are you looking at, and why?

I'm having difficulties making up my mind. I like my Escorts, so I'm looking at the Alita Class Heavy Escort Carrier and the Detapa Class Cardassian Intel Escort. Of course.

I think the freebie will be a donator. It may be something I can strip for parts. It could be a console or a Trait or a special weapon or something, so I may not simply go after an Escort.

I would really like to know what you people think about this.

Unless there's a ship that I don't have with a trait or pet I really need to have, I think mine will be a donator too. I may save it for a while in case there's a new ship on the horizon that is shinier than my Presidio mine layer build.

Off-topic, but I just realized that I have a potentially great Mine Layer. I mean, it's a 3/5 with a hangar bay and a Temporal seat.

I'm not sure to be honest, I'm leaning towards the support cruiser or the gagarin as I like the look of their traits.

If you are only after Traits get the Shran for Strike From Shadows that one is realy good.

I take it once we get the magical 3000 tokens the discount won't "expire"?

Because i'd like to keep it until something really special comes along like a T6 Oberth, Luna or Nova.

I've got a lot of ships already and nothing really takes my fancy right now tbh. The Cardassian ships are pretty good fun, i'll say that. Not exactly the best looking (though I do like the Science Dreadnought) but perfectly serviceable ships, and the unique cloak visuals are fun.

I strongly suspect the DSC Connie is NOT going to be C-store, because it'll be dropping close to the time when people get free ships, so it's gonna kill its sales figures as everyone gets it for free.

I'm thinking about getting the Arbiter, since it was one T6 I never did get.

Also I have a feeling DSCCon will be a promotional ship which means I won't be able to get her

If I recall Kael said they wont expire, just that new ships were temporarily exempt from the token.

Well...I'm not completely sure yet. May also consider saving it...just kinda want the Gagarin trait as it would free up a tac slot...but don't know if it would be worth blowing a ship trait on.

The Avenger/Arbiter console set is worthwhile IMO. Only two slots utilized and that bonus is nothing to sneeze at. Oh, and it's not restricted to a ship Class type, either... which means you can substitute a bit for the loss of an RCS on a slower Cruiser, etc.

I'm with you--thinking of holding onto it till a new ship comes along that I really want.

Something I hadn't considered is that whichever T6 ships we get, that could also make the corresponding Fleet version much cheaper. So the T6 ships we get could impact more than just that one ship, it could also impact the ability to get two ships for substantially less than the price of one.

For example: Resolute Class Advanced Heavy Destroyer [T6] and the FAHC [T6] (EXCELSIOR!), or the aforementioned Shran [T6] and the Fleet Magee Pilot Light Escort [T6]. The Fleet ships drop from 20,000 FC and 5 FSMs each to 20,000 FC and 1 FSM each.

To be honest, the more I look at the [T6] ships, the more I would be happy with a free [T5] instead.

I'm undecided. I own a lot of the Fed ships already, but the pilot escorts are ones I've never bothered with. Might bag one of those to try it out, otherwise I'll just sit on it and hold it back for a rainy day.

I suspect you'd have better odds on actually building a real functional Constitution than the ones for a C-Store release.
