    Before the Anniversary update on Windows 10, it worked perfectly fine, the process was able to run. After the update, it just froze there.

    I'd like to add a little info to the points JC just made ...

    The difference in the resource settings between STA2 1.2.5 and STA 2 Classic mod is that in STA2 1.2.5 you can set infinite moons and planets seperately from the starting resource setting., while in the STA2 Classic mod when you choose infinite moons and planets you automatically get infinate starting resources, too.
    This is a difference I personally noticed after playing STA2 1.2.5. and the STA2 Classic mod.

    I think that is simply becuase they resource moons are already set to infinite planets/moons

    Hi all!
    Found this forum with my older brother's referral. I want to troubleshoot my Armada 2 problems.
    So me and my older brother wants to play STA2 every now and then just to kill off some time. Just when I want to play, with patch 1.2.5 installed and set the relevant compatibility, this error message showed up and forced the program to end.Name: Untitled.jpg Views: 777 Size: 157.3 KB
    My older brother is using the same operating system as me but he's running the program smoothly. Can anyone help?

    Just throwing a wild guess out there based off of the screenshot, are you each using your own CD for the game or trying to both play from the same copy? If so that could be the issue based on the last 2 lines of that screenshot. Either that or some random memory bug.

    On a side note, I also use to play STA2 with a family member and we would be having a blast and then there would be a random LAN disconnect Sad

    Ah... That could be the reason, since I've transferred the ISO image of the disc that I used to install to my younger brother.

    You should be able to use the same cd regardless since they do not require cd keys.
    Also I haven’t been able to get my sta2 to work via online stuff for some time. Armada 1 & 2 are some f my all time fav games.

    Tried it last night, it still gave me the same message, tried reinstalling the game several times for the last 2 days. And I have ran out of options.

    Did a lil digging, if you truly want to get this running bad enough, seems the best way to get STA2 to run properly, is to run via virtual machine.

    How to install virtual XP on Win 10

    How to run STA2 on Win 10 via a virtual machine

    Maybe all you'll need is the 2nd vid, depends on your PC skill lvl, if not the 1st one, although very fast, seems to cover installing good. If you do any of this, let me know how it turns out, been thinking of getting STA2 but I'd have to find a disk somewheres.
