What is sad is that the lock box would be preferred over the R&D box as lock boxs have better odds of dropping the ship. I would not be surprised if they decide to not release lock boxes anymore because the R&D boxes make them more money due to the lower odds of obtaining the ship. I do wonder if the majority of governments do end up banning gambling mechanics or at the very least require a mature rating for games with gambling mechanics, what will this mean for STO? Will they end up having to go back to subscription base fees? Or will just releasing more ships on the C-Store be enough to "SHOW PWE THE MONEY!"?

It's a difficult situation. I mean, I want the game to keep going and going, and loot boxes pay the bills. So, it sucks, but I get why the practice is done. I'm screwed as I have the absolute worst luck with lootboxes.

I think I could swallow it better if things were account wide unlock (which they could even go the SWTOR route for and charge a big price for that). Most people are going to pay an arm and a leg, in one fashion or another, to get a Crossfield, or discovery era Enterprise, you should be able to unlock it account wide. having my Crossfield on a toon that doesn't have discovery era sound effects and animations just seems wrong....but I'm stuck with it.

On a side bar... are people really able to grind a billion credits in 6 months? How is that done?

We don't even know how much damage the pets are gonna do....if you notice they all have micro phasers....means they're obviously going to be less potent than normal pets. Not saying they will be weak, but you aren't going to have each one of six do the same damage of each one of one of a regular fighter. Not like each hangar is gonna do a 100k damage.

Till we see numbers we have no idea what kind of damage they will do, it could just be a complete gimmick to match the show or they could be a DPS powerhouse, who knows. If it's the latter, Cryptic also has a track record of nerfing such.

You're a good person. I'd probably do the same honestly, maybe hold onto it for a few days before opening it or relisting it in case they asked. I'd end up feeling guilty otherwise.

If its true that CBS wants the ship to be rare, then adding it to the C-Store for 10k zen even wont accomplish that. It would fly of the shelves. So not sure what they could do to please the masses with that kind of demand from CBS when the entire point is to keep it scarce so few can own it.

Im not going to gamble for it or spend my EC on it. I have 400M EC atm but im going to use that on a Mirror Engel for the SAD trait. I dont hold out any false hopes that it will ever go down in price either.
