No way am I that lucky to get it off just a few packs so I'll pass. I saw one flying around in Defence of Starbase One last night and to be honest, I wasn't that impressed with the ship's performance but that could have been down to a poor build. Between a science ship throwing grav wells and plasma storms around like confetti and something like two dozen mines flying around melting everything in sight, he didn't have much of an impact on events.

As someone who throws grav wells and plasma storms around like confetti, this post made me very, very happy.

I was watching this video and about 11 minutes in he launches the fighters, if you watch the damage they're doing....a lot of it looks like single to double digits damage.

Is that 40k for two hangars worth? If so they arent any better than Aeons for example.

On another note. It seems like everyone who opened their wallets to gamble for the DiscoPrise are now desiring the SAD trait for it. So Mirror Escort carriers went from sub 400 million to 1B - 1,5B in price. Same as a DiscoPrise itself and they are selling at that price so people are empying their wallets. So ill have to porspone my plan to get the trait I own about 550M EC and im not about to spend 1,5B for a trait.

Im going to stop Collecting EC as well. Ill just spend whatever EC i make on keys while i wait for Prices to normalise. Either prices drops down to the 400M range again and i can afford it, or i get lucky from a key. Whatever comes first.

Edit: Scratch that. Someone put one up for 400M. Probably not having checked the exchange. So i grabbed it Now i have no idea what to work for next so got to go back to the drawing board

I have not used the SAD Trait with any of my pets yet, well today is a good day to try also the high prices are a momentary thing and thing will normalize once the Promotion Box is over.

So they're nice but they aren't game breaking, from the sounds of it the new phaser/disruptor weapons are more of a game changer.

Yup, the pets and the ships themselves are pretty decent i'm hearing but it's those beam arrays that have been snuck in under the radar and people aren't discussing that are the biggest game changer here.
The doubled proc rate added to a Cat 2 bonus for dmg is not to be sniffed at. The fact they are locked behind a promo ship is seriously questionable.

1.) The new Beams are the best Beams in the game
2.) They can do up to 20% more damage to regular Beams
3.) Beam are still the worst Weapon type in the game even mines are beating them.
4.) They are still nowhere near to change the Meta and Cannons still are the best.

I suspect the only time that Beams will out-DPS Cannons is when there's a mechanic introduced to prevent AFKPARKLOLFACEROLL type gameplay as Cannon users have to be a bit more active in theirs to achieve optimal results. Can't just park Starboard or Port and watch the pretty lights, but have to make passes at a target, preferrably at Aft.

That's not even touching the obvious pet gameplay aspects of the ship as a carrier, either.

Well beams shouldn't really out DPS cannons, but if it's true they're worse than mines now....they really could use a little love.

I use beams, I thought it was silly when they were king and FaW facerolled everything. Beams are incredibly easy to wield compared to cannons and it makes sense they do more DPS.

Why are they doing more damage on BFAW I than BFAW III? Are they bugged?
