    To be honest, having it all under one banner makes way more sense. It means anyone can use any aspect of the IP in the future for new shows/films/games/books etc without silly arguments about who owns what.

    So i'm hopeful this means good times ahead for Star Trek in all formats.

    I'm interested to see how this will effect current license agreements. However I'm happy that Star Trek, pending approval, will be under one roof again.

    This is basically Shari Redstone cleaning up the mess her father, Sumner Redstone, left behind. I think it was either Midnight's Edge or the BurnettWork on YouTube that mentioned that Shari was not happy at all with the way Alex Kurtzman and his Secret Hideout group were handling Star Trek. She ousted Kurtzman from day-to-day showrunning operations (although SH still has some involvement with Trek, unfortunately).

    The brand should never have been divided as it was. Very bad business! Sumner Redstone is ultimately to blame for the licensing mess since he had the final say, but Les Moonves, ex-boss at CBS, was reported to loathe Star Trek and had no problem exploiting the brand, even if caused harm to Trek's reputation. Moonves is also the guy that axed Enterprise just when the show was at its best in season 4.

    Here's hoping Shari and the future Trek leadership she hires knows what they're doing. There's a lot of damage to fix.

    I tend to take news from those channels with a huge Grain of Salt, as for trek in general, I'm hopeful the franchise will see a resurgence now that they are back under one roof.

    When is the deal supposed to be finalized anyways.
