I'm excited in particular for the patrol system, mainly for the small amount of time I have to play, especially during working days. This could be a fast way to earn some rewards, Marks and dilithium, and to test you DPS build. What is your thinking about this 2 new UI and gameplay improvements?

"Progress will now work like earned XP where you simply gain it until you reach your goal and then you can claim your reward. There is no need to remember to slot the event project and claim the item"
For that line you mean? True, but look at this one
"All progress for upcoming Events will also now be truly account-wide, allowing you to participate in any of the new activities on any of your characters without having to worry about who had how much progress toward which reward on your account"
I think this will be a big improvement especially for people that have multiple characters and don't want to spend hours to do the event with each one. I hope at this point event rewards will be account based, otherwise this wouldn't be good.

Patrols sound okay, event xp system needs clarification. No more stockpiling but you can buyout for discounted zen if you can't do the event for whatever reason. If true, that doesn't sound like an improvementfrom a player point of view.

I still need to understand what you guys means for stockpiling : is basically gaining event token and put in the bank for the next time the same event reappears? If so, you're right, is not really an improvement from a player perspective, but it depends on how many events re-use same tokens from previous ones. I would say for sure not the anniversary events, but cannot say for sure, considering I didn't participate in a lot of them. But the possibility to buy-out the token you need from the C-Store at discounted price, if I understand correctly, that could be nice.
It's of course my point of view, considering I don't mind to spend some £ or $ on it, but understand others are not willing to.

All the events aside from the annual ones (Summer, Winter, Anniversary) use the same tokens every iteration.
Those annual events used to use the same tokens, then they abruptly changed it in 2015 without any prior notice or opportunity to use stockpiles. It was a very player-unfriendly move. The change took place before Risa in June 2015, but the Admiralty System wasn't introduced until Oct 2015, and the Dry Dock wasn't introduced until Nov 2015. There was also no way to Reclaim earned ships at the time, I can see a post from myself in Nov 2014 explaining that to someone on this forum. (There was no event store in the rep system at the time, we had to actually wait for Summer/Winter and actually go to the vendors if we wanted to buy event items.)
The lack of Reclaim or Dry Dock meant that unless you paid to expand your ship roster, your slots would be permanently taken up by lockbox and event ships if you weren't willing to lose them forever. Without an Admiralty system, there was literally no reason to grab event ships unless you meant to fly them. The most logical thing to do would be to keep the ships in "currency" form, and many people did that.
The timing of all the changes was very player-hostile. It was "Oh, you didn't claim the ships because you didn't have room? Well, now you CAN'T claim the ships, but now you can also free up room via Dry Dock, they don't take up room anyway because now they can be reclaimed, and the ships have purpose even if you don't fly them via Admiralty. Oh, in case you didn't pick up on the massive F-K YOU, your tokens are now only worth useless vanity garbage."
Yeah, I'm still salty. Actually, just thinking about that bullshit again makes me furious. What were we talking about again?

Lol Dark, you make me laugh... But understand your frustration and about that unfair-unfriendly player move from them. So theoretically, in general, every not annual event happening in the game, even if you know you can't complete, is worth to do it because you can stockpile the tokens, at least until the new event tab change. Got it. Well will see at this point how is going to be with the change.

I'm not really sure about this all.
The event tab changes seem like they are trying to blind us with a new fancy UI when in actual fact we are getting hit with the nerfbat. Bort said something about the dilithium rewards being an average of what all players earned over an event, or something similar and it being used to change the daily rewards you could get?
That sounds like they are removing the 50K big stack of dil you got from the first full event run and swapping it for a much lower daily amount. Essentially they are dragging out the volume of time you need to play to earn the same rewards I suspect. Used to be 14 days got you 50K dil; i'd not be surprised if it'll now be more like 20 days gets to 50K or even worse.
Also, the removal of token "stockpiling" gets me a bit concerned. I alwaysgrabbed a few extra vouchers from anything like Sompek, MI, CCA just in case i had a delay in being able to play the next event run; it gives a bit of a backup so you're not always worried about missing something. They already killed the weekend event store in a similar way, removing the ability to save up tokens until you wanted them; this sort of creeping nerf is getting much more prevalent now.
Sure they are all "BUt yoU cAn BuY tOkeNZ frOM thE zEn StOrE!!" ........well thanks Cryptic. Before I could play savvy and save up for a rainy day, but now I need to throw money at you for the same outcome. That's just money-grabbing.
One thing I'd recommend everyone do though, slot up a Sompek project on EVERY character now, because if this goes like the weekend events did they might auto-complete and net you a big return in dilithium. That is if they have any consistency.....

I can understand not being able to do the event dil reward multiple times. It's a bummer, sure, but it'll help control dil inflation.
But not being able to stockpile the TFO commendations anymore to get the prize faster for the next event? Treating progress like earned XP account-wide sounds convenient, but as a silly hoarder of TFO tokens, I don't like it one bit.

If based on xp perhaps you can get more dil in the long run if you do event entire duration. I'd love them to expand on it more since a lot of community members are confused not just here but all over. It seems like with this system you can earn the rewards quicker depending on how much time you're playing. I for one am not a fan of the reputation waiting 20 hours to redo a daily. If this lets me to just enjoy the event I'm all for it.

It was either eliminate the TFO vouchers or do what they did to the Big Three: Make them year-specific. How many 2018 vouchers - of any flavor - are sitting in inventories right now (I have some from Risa and Q.)?
Now we're going to tag a completed run as progress toward the goal. If that progress carries over (which it won't...), then YAY! If it doesn't (which it won't...), then it's going to be a matter of grabbing what we can, when we can. Or pay for the reward. *sigh*
Also, the way I understand it, the DIL bonuses creep up AFTER completing the event mission. So, you get [ITEM X] and then - after completing the event - you start getting escalating amounts of DIL (or whatever). That way people continue playing the event after day 15. I could be hallucinating.

Nope, I don't think you're hallucinating, that's the way I read the article.
The way that Borticus keeps copy pasting the same response to "what happens to the tokens we already have?" makes me think that we'll be getting some BS 'we don't have to do this but have some dil' compensation. It'd go a long way to customer satisfaction if XP from the new event system carried over but then they'd arrive at the same situation as they have now. People stockpiling XP so they don't have to log in each day of the next event. That's not conducive to selling event XP packs for those who find themselves short because of RL.
