3. Cross Save on all Destiny 2 Platforms (Xbox One, PC, and PS4 at a later date because Sony)
4. Destiny 2 is coming to Steam (Bungie is going to migrate your Battle.net purchases to Steam, go to Bungie.net and sign up to be notified when that will happen)
5. They're making Taken King level changes to armour and loot. Also, you can move perks off of armour peices and put them on ones you like the best, IE Transmog basically.

When the upcoming DLC "Shadowkeep" will be released, the Free 2 Play Base Game (probably upto Forsaken) will be rebranded and called as "New Light".

Willing to give it a try when it goes F2P.

Dont get me wrong, a Taken King style update would be awesome about now, but at least offer us something in exchange for the £250 or more I've paid for the base game, deluxe editions and the expansion pass/forsaken dlc.

I'm sure they will work on something like giving "Founder" status and perks for paid customers, otherwise this boat is gonna sink before it sails. They have to do something for people who already spent that cash and kept playing the game lol.

I also highly doubt that Bungie will stiff those of us who have been playing since the very beginning. Now that they're off the oppressive yoke of the Activision executives making them nickel and dime us, everything they announced shows that they're actually listening to the fans.

Sadly not, the game was rubbish upon release. The story was above average, but really really short, and there was little to no content afterwards. There were what, three endgame activities? And then a Raid three weeks later? People moan about anthem and it's non-existent endgame, but destiny did it first. In fact, I only restarted in forsaken, because stuff was that bad, having left almost immediately upon reaching the endgame. And even then, I left shortly after reaching endgame, despite the improvements, just because I was completely out of the loop by that point, and very little effort was made to improve upon that, other than "hey here is some almost-free gear to ensure you can just about play the endgame content we charged you £40 + for.

I pray you are right about not having wasted every pennny, and I really hope this brings improvement to the game. But that is 4 MAJOR broken promises/issues for the Destiny franchise now (the first game was awful at launch, then DLC improved it - charged us extra for most of the privilege to improve the game - Then Destiny 2 came out, hadn't learnt anything from the first game, was awful at launch - Now they are repeating the cycle with MORE paid DLC, and writing off the majority of what I have essentially paid for. I'm an optimist in almost all things, but this is certainly looking to be a sort of cycle, and one I am no longer prepared to waste any money dealing with.

I will definitely wait for reviews at the very least, as I highly doubt any 'founder' perk will be game altering knowing bungie. Probably will be some stupid cosmetic or skin, or maybe some engram related stuff. If that is so, I HATE cosmetic stuff, I play this game for the gunplay, not to look pretty. Should never have pre-ordered I guess, this is what happens.

Also, just realised that despite the fact they are now completely seperate from Activision, they are still using essentially the same development and marketing system, otherwise we would not be matching the previous cycle of Destiny 1. Not a good sign for the so-called new era, despite it being many months later.

Sorry about the rant, but this is awful news for me at the very least...and I was already furious due to real life. Not a good day, and this has just tipped things over the edge. I may well end up getting the new DLC anyway, but I'm going to be a lot more cautious this time around. Having said that, also sorely tempted... I guess time will tell Sometimes I just don't learn my lessons

It was when it was first launched, and it was Activision's interference that mandated it, and it was even revealed that your XP gain from events would throttle to lessen the number of Bright Engrams you got for free. It was a total loot box ♥♥♥♥ show. But that's eased up with the patch that came out before Forsaken launched. Instead of the cosmetics (which are actually pretty cool) being totally random, it's possible to collect all of them in a given set, and if you want to put in the grind you can do it without spending any money. And to the best of my knowledge, the XP throttling has been done away with when the community revolted on Bungie's forums.

To be honest, as Cash Store Items go, Destiny is pretty tame with it being a 100% pure cosmetic only, with the only gripe being that Armour dyes are consumables and obtained through Bright Engrams (the drop rate for them has gone up considerably though). And the best looking Weapons/Armour can still only be obtained from the high tier content.

STO is a hell of a lot worse because those with the money can perform the best, but we don't seem to care.

The original was rubbish on release too, with all the points you made as well. Hell, when the first raid did launch, it was bugged out and nearly impossible, and D1 didn't hit its stride until Taken King. The same can be said for Destiny 2 and it's Forsaken expansion and the planned New Light patch revamp/f2p content.

Bungie has a reputation for rewarding fans who are dedicated. Hell, they send people T-Shirts if they perform certain in-game achievements. For free.

This makes me happy, I wanted to get into the previous destiny but the fact activision was probably gonna screw things up made me pause, I'm gonna give the free version a try and If I like it I'll probably invest into the whole game.
