Yeah my mouse came free with my keyboard and is probably worth about $10 but is really nice to use. It has 4 buttons, a wheel/button and it glows blue - i don't need no fancy-pants $99 elite mouse!
I have the G502 Hero, had it since April, I have to agree that it is such a good mouse! I did end up taking all the weights out since I like a light mouse.
Would recommend this mouse to anybody that is in the market for a new one. No regrets.
It's not on the list and that's a scandal - I've the Corsair M65 Pro RGB and it's the best mouse I've ever owned. It has a sniper button under the thumb buttons that by default lowers the DPI on the fly to allow for more precise aiming in games, though I have it set up as "Fire all Phasers" or reload for the various stuff I play. It lights up too, which essentially means MOAR POWER!
I've got a fondness for Corsair stuff, but I'm not sponsored by them either!
I have been using the M100 for years and years and years and years. I'm on my second one. 3-button and a clicky wheel. I don't NEED anything more.
Trust me - once you've had a mouse with thumb buttons, it's hard going back to a regular mouse. I used to have one of those Razer jobs that had 12 thumb buttons on the side, but I found the software shocking so once it broke I abandoned the brand.
I have a seven side button Razer mouse that I got on special while I lived in the UK. I don't utilise it nearly enough as I haven't really mastered the macro setting in the Razer software. I only have one button for energy weapons, one for torpedoes and one for PTT.
Petrarch's right though, I'd find it awkward going back to a mouse without the side buttons.
Just sharing my mouse - this is what I rock. I also have the complete set that goes with this (keyboard, headphones, stand, mousepad - all LED) software run, I can change the LED of all my peripherals to whatever I want and it looks so cool.
I too like Corsair stuff, my case is by them and so is the cooling system I use.
Quite similar lines for me - I've been trying for a year now to get a refurb going, but other things just keep getting a higher priority. I've a Corsair 1000w PSU and their ML fans for the cooling alongside a Commander Pro to hook them up to, but my case is a Cooler Master M500P. I went for that one as it has support for 6 140mm fans, plenty of room inside and has the mesh plate front with the optional hard cover. If I could just get around to actually getting it done, I'd be laughing!

And there she is!
I've got the K70 LUX and the Void Pro wireless headset to go with the mouse, but I never got the stand. I'm not that keen on mouse mats with lights in them either, but I did get the MM300 extended mat so my keyboard sits on it too. The image below shows it in comparison to the more standard sized mats.

The rest of my Corsair gear... If someone wants to challenge me then I can take a photo of my rig.. but I'm lazy right now..
I keep getting them because of the $5 price tag and the volume knob.
And I DO have a Dell. It's a mildly modified Optiplex 790 DT. I added a HDD and it has 16GB RAM, an ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT (256MB), a Cryorig C7 92mm heatsink and fan combo, and an Altec Lansing ACS340 2.1 speaker system.
OOOOOOooohh!
I am SO pimpin'!

Anyway, back to the topic at hand - I don't do wireless anymore and that is because I learned the hard way... it involved playing an online game of "America's Army", which was made by the U.S. Army a first person shooter which was pretty cool for its time and still kind of if a bit of a learning curve at the time... I had a wireless mouse of all things given the topic thread here and the batteries went dead... this was years ago before wireless really got good... needless to say I lost the match because my mouse died and I couldn't hack it with just a keyboard. The same could be said with headphones too, no sound no fun. So, I still go with cords and dedicated lines to my box for no interruptions whatsoever, because in the age of online play, every second counts and you cannot spend them looking for spare batteries like a n00b.
