Georgiou was in the engine room when Discovery made a run for it, though I was expecting them to spin it as her bailing out so they'd have a hook for the Section 31 series.

The new Male character is Booker, but the new Female character, that's the first time I've seen her.

Imma jump to the conclusion, (rightly or wrongly), judging by those outfits that series 3 of Discovery isn't going to have a lot of Discovery in it. Looks more like a Lost in Space poster.

The one thing I like about new trek is the number of Andorians that have appeared on screen in the show. The fact that so many have appeared in the season 3 trailers has me excited to see what role they play this season.

I do know that they didn't want to start filming her spinoff show until this season had wrapped, and then her schedule on a Marvel movie got pushed back. So I'm assuming she's in the whole season.

Certainly is an interesting banner, I haven't been a fan of Discovery. Although I enjoyed Captain Pike through out the second season, Anson Mount did an incredible job. I'm remaining hopeful and optimistic season 3 will turn out to better than the previous two.

I like the banner and I like Discovery very much too so I cannot wait for season 3 to begin!

I was sceptical when I was watching the pilot, but after a while -especially when the USS Discovery finally appeared- the show was able to catch me. Season 1 was great! I liked Captain Lorca and his very special story. I thought nobody would be able to beat him and his performance, but then there was Captain Pike commanding the Discovery in season 2. Oh my gosh, he was brilliant!

So yeah, I´m looking forward to season 3. It will be nice to meet new characters and "old friends" like Burnham, Tilly, Saru, etc.

I'm very curious as to where the new season will take them. Season two did a great job, in my opinion of developing characters that frankly I didn't know the names of at the end of season one. This includes Airiam and Keyla (the conn officer with the prosthesis), with the star of the show being Saru. I LOVED his character development.

One thing I liked, is how in the trailer Saru makes a point of saying that although the Federation would seem to have collapsed in this future; their ship is of the Federation and it is "their duty and privalige" to ensure that it is a bright one. A common theme in critiscism for the show is that it abandoned Roddenberry's vision of a positive future. I'd say that in some ways Discovery is doing that, although more realistically. The future is a greyscale, some good, some bad (as explored in other shows like DS9). However, it's what you do, living to your ideals and working for a brighter future that counts more than anything else.

Given that they're 930 years into the future, this is a blank slate with no ties to current lore and historical events. Here's hoping they really go to town with it!

You think so? Ariam was very involved, but I don't remember learning much about her until the episode where they kill here. I WILL admit, that came as a surprise to me since, with them having started telling stories with the other characters to flesh them out, "secondary character gets a backstory dump" came across as a natural extension of what they were doing with the season rather than the usual "Make people care about them so it hurts more when we kill them" that usually happens when we suddenly learn all there is to know about a character.
Actually, if they HAD spent some of the season letting us get to know here, maybe I actually WOULD have felt something when they killed her.

Regardless I do hope they keep up the trend. Detmer has been in the foreground (both in terms of placing on the set and her actions in the show) the entire run and we hardly know here, so we could use at least an episode like Owo got with the away team with Pike and Burnham, and I still struggle to remember the names of the guys in the back, so they could definitely use some fleshing out, and we can add a new person to the list since Ariam was replaced.


I just hope we don't spend the first 3 episodes focusing solely on Burnham. I like Discovery, but making her the center of the universe has been a major flaw. For season 1 she was always the focus character, and season 2 made her the literal center of the plot.


At any rate, I'm looking forward to the reboot of Gene Roddenberry's: Andromeda, err I mean Disco season 3, since the show has managed to get a bit better as time goes on.
