Wow! We haven´t watched the 3rd season yet and they´re already talking about and planning S4 and S5. That´s fantastic!

Of anything that was announced & is on, I think DISCO will get 7 seasons.

What I keep asking myself... When the Didco is in the future..... Is she the only Starship sith advanced technology? I mean... It could be that due to a war or something like that all the starship technology could be gone...

Trouble with that is that DIsco was blown 900 years into the future. Even if a war in the future has knocked technology back 500 years, it'll still be 400 years more advanced than Discovery. You'd have to put technology back to the early ENT era for Disco to be considered Advanced tech.

Yeah, but they have the magic mushroom drive still. It's possible they'll have a speed advantage nobody else has. Strength of arms is one thing, but being able to put it where you need is so much more.

Also 5th season? When did it get renewed for a 4th? Kinda nice to see, though. Discovery has a bit more to go, but it's been improving. Would suck if it went out like Enterprise where they finally figured out how to make good plots and then it was over.

They are supposed to be making 4 & 5 at the same time I’ve heard so that things are easier to plan with schedules etc. It also frees up resources for other shows like S31, Pike(?) etc.

Regarding the tech the Discovery has compared to anything else in that time shouldn’t be a problem. We’ve always had ships from all sorts of weird times mixing with each other and most of the galaxy never advanced at the same speed anyway. I mean for example the Voth were wildly advanced compared to Starfleet but both coexisted in the same galaxy.
It would be cool if everyone has been knocked back a few centuries though so our heroes are actually the only ones who remember how things used to be and the potential for good the Federation was meant to be seen as.
But I think from the trailers we’ve seen tech seems pretty advanced so I don’t think civilisation has collapsed totally.
