Yeah, damn, only almost 2 million viewers in Canada? That's no one. It's not just Picard that needs to be axed in Canada, that long running show Law & Order SVU didn't even get 700k! God that show must suck! They should also stop airing Grey’s Anatomy, it's past it's sell by date, only like 1.7 mil viewers, peanuts really.

You want the English one from August 3rd to 9th, Lower Decks sits at 25th, so top 30 for that week, with around half a mil, yes it's not close to Picard, but then it is a cartoon, and has a slightly different audience.

Seeing as canada only has a population of 37.590.000 (census 2019) getting 1.851.000 (4,92%) to watch something is quite good as it was before Covid-19 and canada has (2018 data) ~11.100.000 pay TV and ~7.100.000 (data may 2020) streaming subscriptions. In comparison, STD S1E1 only got 1.170.000 viewer.

You love quoting numbers, but don't love reading between the lines, I mean, you linked something that says:

So regardless of how many views it got, it was the third most watched series debut in Canada for the year. Being third most watched debut seems pretty good. But I know you love numbers, so here's the weekly report from when Episode 1 and 2 aired.



At number 1 sit the total for all CTV channels, so the first hour of Discovery, the article you linked states that 1.17 million of that is from CTV Space (now CTV Sci-Fi), the 2nd hour, or episode 2, sits in 4th place, as this was only on space, so 79,000 people moved from CTV, to Space to continue watching.

I'm not even a fan of Discovery, but I can't argue that it wasn't popular on Candian TV, because it was.

You said that the 1.8 mio Picard got is "no one" and I showed that in relation to population ect. it isn't "no one". It might be in relation to the population of the US...but well... We're, or at least I, talking about the "hat of the US".

Either we talk past each other the whole time or like to have the opposite position of what the other said by default.

Just finished watching episode 9. Pretty interesting and funny overall. But they talk too fast. My head hurts

Great show, don't know why everyone was bashing it when it started. The finale was excellent, haven't been this impressed by a trek production in a long time.

The first three episodes for me were a bit touch and go, but they hooked me in and I was grinning like an idiot throughout all the rest of the show, really hope they make more of this! Though I wouldn't mind if they slowed down a little from time to time
