Just letting you know that I restarted my account on eve. I had it installed ages ago but I never got very far after the tutorial. Now that I am back, it looks very different and it seems I have to learn it all over again.
Its not an easy space sim but that makes it interesting. Maybe with some UFP community support, we can make it through so I requested an invite.

Thanks, I will see what I can do with it. Haven’t got a clue for the moment.
I just received a new ship I got for doing some kind of mission but it is just the ship without any slots filled. Now to find out how to fill those slots and with what and most importantly what is good or what is not good to use ...

If you are running tutorial/early missions they usually give you the ship plus a recommended starting fitting. If you post which ship(s) you have, and what your goal is (i.e. running Caldari Level 1/Level 2 missions) someone can probably recommend a decent fit for the ship(s) in question, or recommend a way to train to use the gear you'll want.

I don’t have my eye on any ship for the moment. Just figuring all things out. I just received a new ship after a mission completion (balance the books part 2 I guess it was) and that ship wasn’t fit with anything. So it’s difficult to fit a ship if you don’t know what all consoles are for.

Yes in the tutorial I get basic fitted ships but I received one without fitting too after a mission.

For ship fitting, you need to work out what you'll be doing more of then fit the ship for that. Since you'll be in frigates/small ships for a while, focus your skill training on small weapon types if you're going to do mission-running mostly. Usually your rookie gets a weapon skill for free depending on culture - hybrids, projectiles or energy weapons. Each have their ups and downs, so its worth thinking about that.

Once thats done, focus on whether you want to go close-range/high damage or long-range/slightly less damage. For hybrids as an example, you're looking between blasters for close-in/high damage vs Rail-Guns for stand-off mid-range damage. Then you need to either augment your shield or armour for combat with your mid/low slots.

Ahhhh Eve. I haven't touched my Gallente Ice Miner character in years. Level 4 missions in a Navy Megathron used to be so much fun.
