Starfield Teaser Trailer

Starfield was shown off as a teaser trailer at the Microsoft conference a few hours ago. It's not giving away anything at all about the story, though it'll focus on a group of explorers known as Constellation aboard their ship Frontier. It otherwise looks like they're still keeping their cards close to the chest, but it's confirmed for release on November 11th 2022.

One of the big items doing the rounds is that Microsoft/Bethesda have done exactly what was suspected they'd do, Starfield will launch on PC, Xbox Series X (no last-gen version) and Game Pass, but it will not be releasing for Playstation.

EDIT: gonna be honest, reminds me of the first iteration of STO under Perpetual Entertainment. and I was super hype for that until that went south =(

Looks promising and PC/Xbox exclusive certainly going to see a lot more of them from Bethesda now they part of Microsoft

The hype is really getting out of control, all they're doing is setting themselves up for disappointment. I'm sure it will be a fine game, but people are going absolutely crazy with the theories and analysis based on a prerendered teaser trailer

Good looking trailer but that means naff all for what the actual game will look and play like. We kinda know it'll look amazing as Skyrim was a massive leap in visuals and also creating a living world and that was years ago.

Will be one to watch though.

There was a sandwich in the trailer, clearly Starfield will have in-depth cooking and a hunger and thirst system where you have to consume a certain number of calories each in-game day or suffer penalties

Pause the video at 1:18 - there's an oddly shaped scratch in the silver plate at the end of the console just under the bolt. A lot of people are claiming that this is a hint as to where the next Elder Scrolls will be set, the west coast of Tamriel in the Hammerfell and High Rock regions.

A big stretch that one, but it's what a lot of people think it means.

I love that a lot of the conversation around this has essentially been:

Gamers: Well Microsoft brought Bethesda, so that means Xbox/PC exclusivity then.
MS/Beth: No, no that won't be the case there will be no exclusivity.
Starfield is announced
MS/Beth: Soooo yeah it's an Xbox/PC exclusive.
Gamers: You notice how none of us are surprised? Angry, sure but surprised? No.

That being said I'm interested in it sure, but it's also Bethesda and their track record hasn't exactly been the greatest the last few games so I doubt it will be a day one purchase for me at least not yet, but it's definately one I'll be keeping an eye on.

Given that its on Games Pass if you have that you get access anyway so effectively you can try before you buy anyway

Lucky me!

I'll happily give it a go if it's on there anyway. Far better than paying $50 for a new game and finding it's a bit pants.
