I’m new to community and I have been wondering something since my return to STO.

Do the weapons that come with this ship continue to update based upon your rank/level?

The wiki page says, "Federation starships come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style."

But if I remember correctly, the weapons, engines, shields, deflector, and warp core scale up to Mk XII. After that, they must be upgraded with Upgrade tokens. I could be incredibly wrong though.

You really wouldn't want to get this before you can use Mk XV gear anyway. Unless you're role playing, you're going to replace all of the gear on the ship with newer, better stuff.

They scale, but only till level 50...which I think is XI or XII

If you want stats or higher mark you need to get some from a lockbox

Yes, for the lockbox version of the kelvin phasers, they can be upgraded unlike ones from the ship. The cheapest way to acquire them is to buy them from the exchange, they cost about 4 million EC per beam which is less than if you used a key and got lucky, since a key essentially costs you about 9 million EC per.

The default phasers can't be upgraded? That's kind of crappy. But then again, I'm using Ba'ul Beams on mine...
