Hello Everyone

Hello everyone. It is great to be part of the UFP. Just wanted to introduce myself. I am PurpleRose. I am from Texas. I am married with two teenage kids. We have been together for almost 19 years. As you can probably guess by my profile picture; I am transgender (male to female). I came out to my wife about 2 and a half years ago. She really wasn't surprised and she and the kids support me 100%. Which was great because that could have gone so the other way. I mention this right away because I don't hide who I am hoping this doesn't matter to the UFP. I am currently working as Pharmacy Clerk at my local pharmacy and hope to train as a Pharmacy Tech in the near future.

I grew up with TNG and enjoyed Voyager. It took me later in life to enjoy DS9 as that was way deeper and darker than TNG. I have been in and out of STO since it was in Beta. So, I have seen a lot of change in the game. I am currently leveling a new character to get back into the swing of things. I have her flying a T6-X Dreadnought Cruiser. So, probably will be looking for build ideas later on in this character's career.

I have also played Eve Online for a bit, but haven't been logged into Eve for quite a while.

Glad to be part of the UFP and look forward to flying the galaxy with y'all.

Hey there, PurpleRose. From one new member to another, glad to see you adding your two cents to the community.

With regard to your revelation, it's the person inside, and how you treat others, not the meat attached, so to speak, that matters. It's good you found your balance and that your family is with you in it. You're right in that things could have been much different and way less pleasant.

I'm just returning to the game, myself, after taking a very long time off what was only a couple months of poking around. I found the UFP quite by accident and it prompted me to give the game a 2nd try. So far, everyone I've met, both ingame and in TeamSpeak has been friendly and helpful. And properly warped senses of humor appear to abound, I'm happy to say.

Yeah. I found long ago that it doesn't do any good to get mad about something. It usually doesn't help and makes people not want to help. So, I try to be nice to everyone regardless of how they are acting towards me. But, like everyone, I have limits.

I also found the UFP by accident. I was looking up some info about STO and found some forum posts from here with the search.
