Will be interesting to see how this plays out. Operation Wolf was a fun TFO to run when they rolled that one out, but seems like Cryptic has been doing better with new ground TFOs rather than space TFOs lately in general. I'm not a fan of timegated runs either, but kind of hard for them not to do that with the massive disparities in power between newly minted fleet admirals and the DPS gods out there, and I doubt they want to invest time and effort to build a speed-run TFO like the Borg queues are anymore that are over in seconds. Hopefully they can strike a better balance this time around.

Isn't that why there are different difficulty levels? But no one wants to do the hard ones because everyone just wants it to be over in 10 seconds

But the thing is even in regular tfos you see these dps gods who could probably almost solo a elite by themselves in easy or advanced....it seems like so often I want to take it easy and test a tweak I made to my build in say...khitomer vortex and I get players who can take out a whole side by themselves in like a couple minutes or less

Yeah, the TFO queueing system in general could use some work. Direct queueing for an elite TFO rarely works, so god-tier dpsers are forced to either run the more active advanced or normal random queues, or try to drum up a group in various chat channels with mixed results. If a player has a build that is solid enough for an elite run though, there really is no reason they should be running normal queues, as they should be more than capable of soloing a normal queue (if not an advanced one). It can be nice if you just want to get a run done to have a high dpser in the run to carry it if needed, but you almost have to assemble a premade group if you really want to guarantee a run that lasts more than a few seconds.
There also isn't any kind of built-in guidance to recommend which level is appropriate for you, so it is hard for the casual, non-parsing player to really gauge what works best for their current level of performance. Unfortunately, piloting skill plays a massive part of one's dps performance, so it is more than a matter of just weighing gear, traits, etc. which complicates matters.
