I've got to say that I really enjoy Lower Decks, it gives me a similar feeling to the Orville which I greatly enjoy. The show creators seem to allow for a lot of creativity and it shows. I'm only six episodes in but enjoyed each of them, still stuck on S1 of Picard and struggling, I've heard S2 is much better. Stuck on the back end of S1 of Discovery as well but will push through but it's a slog. I have high hopes for Strange New Worlds which is saved up to watch.

Frankly I didn't like Lower Decks very much, but I liked Prodigy. To be fair the only decent season of Discovery was the 2nd. Picard 1st season was meh to bad, but the second season improved alot. In case you are wondering why I didn't like Lower Decks too much was because I felt the pace was too fast and the humor was forced many times. Strange New Worlds is the best recent Star Trek series, it finally feels Star Trek is on the right track again.

Star Trek Discovery should be called Star Trek Burnham, the plot per season is always the same Burnham will fix it and will tell everyone it doesn't matter if it's her Captain, an Admiral or the President of the Federation what is right and what is wrong.
She is the ultimate Mary Sue frankly you only have to watch the first and last episode of a Season. The first to see what the problem is and the last how she solves it.
Star Trek Picard Season 1 just ruined the character itself. There's nothing left of the Captain you have seen in TNG he has become the complete opposite for his former self.
Season 2 was a lot better but after the first three episodes the story was stretched so long it became boring until the final two episodes.
Both shows are for me extremely hard to watch to the point that I have not even watched the last season of Discovery but read the reviews and was justified not to have watched it.
Star Trek SNW seems to be so far the shining Diament that might save it for me.

Absolutely.
Current rating for me is as follows:
Lower Decks
Discovery
Picard
Picard just is ruining it for me. They have the one character that the majority would have desperately wanted a separate show and in my opinion, they don't know how to handle it. The first season was just... just... yep. Second started better but I felt got too ridiculous, not believable and just out right crap - and just ended... they also broke the record for fixing a galactic threat - less than 5 mins of screen time from introduction to conclusion. I don't want to think this, but I am so happy there is only one more season of Picard.
Discovery never should have happened. The general premise was ok, apart from Spore Drive and I agree with Bridger it is soooo Burnham centric and she is now just frustrating. I think it has gotten better since they went to the future, but not good enough imo.
Lower Decks to me, feels like it is written by a fan, being true to the lore whilst making it comedic (granted, forced at times, but ok). I hated it until half way through Season 1 and now I am hooked. I think it has more Trek elements than any other show currently out there (in the Trek realm anyway, I think Orville the best modern Trek show that doesn't bear the name Star Trek). I hope that next month when I can finally watch SNW that it is the knight in shining armour I am hoping for.

I tried Lower Decks and just couldn't get into it. I just felt like a lot of the humour was forced and it was trying too hard to be "quirky-Trek"; it felt like a bad fan-made idea to me.
I just found it a bit cringe to be honest. I think Trek can handle humour quite well as it's always been a part of it in other shows but LD seems to be a bit overblown with immature jokes trying to link to a million Easter eggs at once.
Not seen Prodigy as I have no way to watch it; it looks pretty fun though.
Discovery is not perfect; I think it has some issues with pacing in places because it's such a short season each time. Visually and in terms of production values I think it's outstanding; much better than polystyrene caves and every place looking like California we used to get in the 90's! lol.
Some of the characters are really good (Dr Culber), other are lacking (the secondary bridge crew), some are just overpowering (Tilly becoming ever more over the top with her "quirkiness").
The stories are good overall but seem to end up feeling rushed with no room to breathe.
I did enjoy it overall though; but I've not seen the latest season as I don't have access to P+.
Picard was a bit shaky in S1 and much better in S2. It's again trapped in a shorter series length so the plot can get distorted by this constraint. I feel the series both work better as a binge watch over a few days and treating them like an extended movie story makes them flow better than watching once every week.
Picard himself is obviously not the same person as he's a lot older, has seen the galaxy suffer immensely since Nemesis and is having to deal with a variety of personal issues. It's different but still rings back to TNG at the heart.

In complement to my other commentary. Yes, Lower Decks is better than Discovery or Picard even thought it's pace is fast. But the worse of all of them is Discovery. At this point it's simply adding 2 people in a room and make both cry and I agree with the fact that it's Burnham centric.

Huh... I really enjoyed lower decks, but I make a conscious effort to not take it seriously. There is a few too many 'hey... did you spot our clever reference??' moments for that.
I really enjoyed Picard S1. So far I'm not really enjoying S2 that much. It really feels like it is one or two trek episodes stretched out over a season (with way too many 'look! its <character from ST whom we all know and love>' moments... But it might pick up later on for me Only a few episodes in.
Never got into Discovery. Its on my list to watch, but I didn't understand the dramatic change with the Klingons (admittedly, they did it before...).

Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds are the only new Trek shows that fit under the name 'Star Trek'.
'Picard' destroyed Picard as a character. It was just Patrick Stewart spouting off on current day political events, as told by bad writers. He really wasn't the Picard that we knew. Season 2 had a lot of promise, but seemed to be written on a small budget. It had a couple of decent episodes at the beginning and the end, but wasted the rest of the season on filler in between. The ending was rushed, and...I'll try to be kind...unintelligent. It seemed like a very convoluted way to accomplish Q's goals. I really didn't like the supposed galactic threat at the end, and how it was resolved. The whole season's writing just seemed especially weak.
As for Discovery, Bridger is correct. Burnham is a Mary Sue, and the writers don't know Star Trek. It is a daytime soap opera, in loose Star Trek clothing. Picard and Discovery are more dramatic fantasy that Sci-Fi, and by dramatic, I mean overly emotional, immature representations of Starfleet personnel that should never be qualified to serve on a Starfleet vessel. Starfleet Officers have always been represented as mature, competent, and serious about their positions, until Discovery. Discovery turns Starfleet personnel into overly emotional, immature 'young adults' who cannot perform their duties until they've worked out there personal issues...often in the middle of life or death situations! It's a present day, young adult drama, which is 'Star Trek' in name only. Additionally, every season of Discovery hinges on a galaxy threatening disaster that only Burnham can save everyone from. That's the problem with serialized story telling. They are afraid to tell a simple story, because they have a whole season to tell it. So, they feel obligated to make the threat too big.
They should be following the DS9 model. Tell a serialized story, buried in a season of episodic, self contained episodes. I get the feeling that's what the writers are trying to do with Discovery, but they aren't talented enough to pull it off. So, what we get instead are seasons of mostly unresolved B and C storylines, coming across as meaningless filler, until the final episode or two, when they try to cram in a resolution to the season's A plot, in too short of an amount of time to resolve it properly. Instead of B and C plots, that carry forward through multiple episodes, devise an A plot for the season, then have a separate plot per episode that resolves itself by the end of each episode. Build in pieces of the A plot, if necessary, or if it fits with the episode plot, but conclude the episode's plot by the end of the episode. Finish the serialized plot at the end of the season, making sure that it has been sufficiently developed throughout the season so that it does not need to be rushed at the end. It doesn't seem that hard to me! Discovery's writers should try to find a way to combine the episodic story-telling of Strange New Worlds with a smaller scale serialized story, such as encountering a new threat from within the Federation, like a separatist group that wants the Federation to reform in a more militaristic way...or encountering a new civilization, that poses a threat to the Federation. Something on a smaller scale than a galaxy ending event, which only Burnham can save them from! Flesh out the crew, giving them talents, and room to grow. Help us feel something for more members of the cast. Give everyone a chance to shine, and make Burnham out to be a great leader, someone who inspires great things from her crew, instead of standing on their backs to outshine them all!
TL;DR: Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds (so far) are worthy of the Star Trek name. Prodigy is fine, but doesn't really feel like Star Trek...it's more like Star Trek adjacent. Discovery and Picard are hot garbage!

I'll say I like all the new Trek, but probably Lower Decks and so far SNW are probably my favorites. I don't mind serialized storytelling, but Picard and Discovery play much better if you can sit and binge the whole season at a time, but rarely do I have a quiet day like that personally.
Picard is decent...if you don't go in with the expectation that it is TNG seasons 8 and 9. They write with a character focus on the idea that "paradise" isn't so perfect, and people still have personal problems instead of the "perfect people" past Trek usually has given us. I know that the whole "everyone always gets along in Starfleet" idea comes from Roddenberry himself, but as a behavioral scientist that idea was always suspect to me. The "science fiction" part for Picard is all backdrop and really not the focus of this particular series.
Discovery really struggles in a few areas. They have the largest core cast of characters of all the series, but all the character development is used on Burnham and a few other characters, and much of the bridge crew are just named set dressing with a few episodes where they try to force a story on them then forget all about them again. They have also overused the "Disco saves life, the universe, and everything" plot with all 4 seasons so far, so a change of pace to something other than a desperate high stakes season might help give other characters a chance to do something interesting.
Prodigy so far hasn't been bad. It is geared towards younger viewers, but it seems to do a decent job of introducing Trek ideas and themes without the more mature topics, so it has been a good way to introduce my kids to Trek without needing to worry about Kirk/Riker/Bashir/etc. trying to jump every warm body in sight and having "the talk" over and over.

I realy liked Lower Decks; more than Picard or Discovery.
Picard in Season 2 developed into a better series. Better storyline in whole, but lost at some point of good writing. I quit Discovery at Season 2; never dealt with the rest of it. I don't have access to Strange New Worlds, but from what I have read so far, it is the best show of all recent Star Trek.

I do think it is a shame that things have gone the way they have, I don't mind serialised stories when done right - I just feel like Picard and Discovery are being mis-handled, especially with some of the decisions they made in Season 2 of Picard where it honestly just didn't make sense, or ultimately wasn't important. I just don't agree with the entire Borg ethos being destroyed by 1 person, with 1 sentence - was all rushed and I really didn't get the point of Q at all. Didn't flow at all - sadly, I am very biased and ultimately hate Season 2. 😛
If you have an hour - this is honestly worth a watch and sums up nicely Season 2...

One show being 'better' than the other is really up to personal opinion, though I believe Lower Decks is well produced. I wasn't a fan of Picard season 2, and I liked the concept of Discovery going into the far future, but overall the idea of dealing with an overarching threat vs exploring the final frontier puts lower decks ahead for me.

I copied this from somewhere awhile ago. We're a pretty friendly bunch at the UFP , so as 'wagging a finger at' as this quote may come across, it's not. I just thought it was a apt saying. Could apply to Star Wars or the MCU as well.
Star Trek is and will always be, a restaurant.
We all love eating there. We don't like 'every' dish on the menu and that's ok, you're not supposed to. Order what you like, avoid what you don't, and don't worry about what others are having.
And don't be a jerk to the staff.
