I have a few days before I finish out this year's event campaign and I'm planning on grabbing a promo ship as the prize. My challenge is I'm a bit torn on which ship to grab and for what toon, as I run a Fed Sci Vulcan typically with an EPG Verne or my Fed Tac Human or Romulan Engineer that both typically run various DEW builds on a variety of ships (though both have partially built out EPG and torp ships too). All 3 are pretty advanced builds capable of cranking out 300-400k ISA and 600k+ ISE DPS runs, so mostly I'm just pondering which one to give some extra overkill potential to, and which type of overkill might be most over the top.
I'm currently torn between getting an Atlas for my Tactical toon, since that's the only "main" I run that lacks a DPRM console, or maybe picking up the Crossfield Refit to get the Universal Designs trait, most likely for my "main", which is my Sci that runs a with lots of clickies available, though I have enough other clickies on the other 2 toons to potentially make UD worthwhile there as well. I welcome any thoughts or suggestions.
And before you mention it Taku, yes I have seriously considered getting my Romulan a Valkis as another option. I already run a Legendary Scimitar for him though, so outside of space barbie I'm just not sure I'd get enough mileage out of it compared to my demonic Batman's Batwing ripoff ship (particularly since it has a Ba'ul vanity shield to complete the Batman look).

DPRM might not be that important anymore I stopped using it on my main Tac, and went the full Haste Route.
If you already have the Immolating Phaser Lance and Universal Designs for your Tac than sure get it for your Sci.

Yeah, my tac is pretty much already set at least console-wise around a haste meta, so might go ahead and forego the DPRM even though it would be nice to relieve the occasional squishiness situations.
To your point about the immolating phaser lance, am I right to assume it would be better to get UD first and then the lance to take advantage of the short cooldown for the UD buffs, or is the lance good enough to consider first and maybe chase the Crossfield Refit later?

In terms of width/wingspan, the Valkis is easily bigger and I think it still is the widest ship model in the game. That said, it is pretty flat vertically and ships like the Ra'nodaire are easily larger along that dimension. I don't know that anyone has ever really tried to figure out the biggest ship in terms of overall displacement volume in a 3D space.

The Voth City ship is huge and I think it was scaled to about 11KM, but for STO playable ships, I think it's the Viridian. The in-game model is larger than the Universe Class and the devs had to downscale it from the version used in the show, which is supposed to be about 11KM long. For comparison's sake, the Universe is canonically about 3.2KM long.
Comparing it to the 32nd Century Starfleet vessels, the largest one they have (that we've seen) is the Angelou class about 2.1KM in diameter, then the Constitution which is just a hair under 1.4KM.

There is one ship that's loaded with cannon mounts and has floating sections that is longer than the Valkis (Emerald Chain Intel Juggernaut), a lot of ships are thicker, but none are wider than the Valkis. The new UFO ship is close, but the Valkis still has a larger footprint.
The Durgath Battlecruiser and the Universe Cruiser -- which are the other two Temporal Heavy Dreadnoughts that come in the Promo pack -- are longer as well, but the Valkis is still larger over all.
These three are SUPPOSED to be the largest ships in their respective fleets. They are, after all, flying starbases.
Temporal Heavy Dreadnoughts are colossal starships designed to function as both a mobile starbase and a forward battle station. These ponderous behemoths are very slow to maneuver, but offer tremendous firepower, unparalleled durability and the capability to launch combat support vessels.
The hangar pets that come with the Valkis (Craeul Frigates) are listed at 100m long.
But enough about how big MY 'starship' is. . .

I was pondering picking up the Durgath because I lack a cool KDF ship and I love carrier-type ships. Plus it reminds me of the ship from the old Disney movie The Black Hole, USS Cygnus. The Fed version looks like a pancake, no interest in that, but the Valkis is cool. Ugh I hate decisions! I'm now torn between the Janeway and the Durgath for the event reward. I think I have enough Sci/torp ships though haha, but the space Barbie in me screams Janeway.

I had a free [T6] ship coming and I went with bought a Mars Class Pilot Escort off of the exchange (1 Billion EC). I hate to admit it (because I detest the magic floating nacelles), but I like it. I'm a Pilot jock, and typically fly a Jaeih SCI Pilot Warbird, but the Mars is growing on me.
The big thing is that you find a ship type that you like to fly and get the biggest, meanest, nastiest version of that ship. I like the iron fist in a velvet glove that a pilot escort with broadside emitters creates. But that's me. If you like rainbow boats, a cruiser is going to be your thing. Or if you like pet swarms, get one of the Temporal Heavies. They're awesome pet carriers.
Just remember that it's not a game against others, it's you against the game. Once you can beat the game, then it's all about beating the game in STYLE.
Space Barbie is the ultimate endgame.

Very cool! I really like the magic floating nacelles, one of my main draws to the Janeway. On the Temporal Heavies, if you have the all faction unlock, does the game ask you which version you want, or is it still regulated on the characters' "faction"?

There's also the Terran Trailblazer which has very similar stats and boff seating compared to the Janeway, while also having more space barbie options and being much cheaper being only a standard 3,000 Zen C-Store ship. That way, you can get "both" ships, with one, the Trailblazer, also being unlocked account-wide.

I do believe that once you are able to fly anything, you are free to choose anything. I mean, my Reman KDF captain is freely purchasing Federation pilot escorts.
However, your mileage may vary. Caveat emptor. All that legalese.

THAT was the other ship I got with the freebie coupons. The Trailblazer. Tough little ship. Nasty, too. Just mean.
I like it.
