Biiqs dismissed Frov and his engineer with a smile, and turned to address Thane's statement. "Thanks for the suggestion. Klingon Engineers are among the best around when it comes to maintaining old vessels in top fighting form, but I don't think we need to show up those responsible for the condition of the ship. You've given me a great idea, though. We dont have to literally scavenge old battlefields for debris: at the starbase, the 'debris' will probably be inside the station, drinking in some isolated corner of the station."

He paused for effect, but then realized that one couldn't really be dramatic with a telepath.

"Chiefs! Old, grizzled Starfleet Chief Petty Officers are the debris I'm referring to. The equivalent to an old grizzled KDF mechanic, an enlistedman that's been around forever and seen and done a bit of everything. In our professional, officer oriented fleet, you don't always see them, but where there's a mess, there's an experienced chief assigned if the captain is smart. Why, Starfleet even left DS9 in the care of a chief when we first took it over. Broken down, booby trapped, infested with voles - its a job only a chief could love. If we could snag a handful of experienced Senior or even Master Chiefs, that would be a great help. When we get to thr station, I'll try to steal a few. But, first we have to get there."

Biiqs stood up and headed toward the bridge. Before the doors opened, he said, "I will excuse you to your duties until we come near our mission destination. You've got your hands full with an investigation and now executive officer duties. I'll handle the bridge officer rotation for you and excuse you from taking a bridge shift for the time being, unless you want one. And, again, thank you. You've been an invaluable help. Thane listened and even smiled as a Ferasan does without the hidden agenda behind it. "Don't worry, loyalty is earned and you have earned mine. We support one another on these voyages." With that he lets the Captain go and mulls over in his head all that he has encountered and how fast he has shot up in responsibility. Time judges all, right?

He tapped his commbadge "Attention department heads, this is XO Thane Va'rek. By 0900 hours tomorrow morning along wih the standard department reports, a list of possible improvements and solutions to long standing issues. Broken down into needs and wants. If you or your personnel have any queries or concerns, my door is always open. Thane out." With that he studied the PADD and grinned from ear to ear when he spied the cloak. Irreparable? Nah not to him! He had to see the old Federation attempt at a cloaking device. Thane left the office and headed for the lift. Entering he says "Deck 13."

Noting the security levels of the area Thane made his way to the cloaking Generator, tricorder in hand and ready to study and see just what they had on hand. If he could fix it, it would be a huge boon in times of need here to evade the local populace. If able to access the room where the generator is located Thane heads for a console to access the system and get a read out of it.

Commander, we are ready and within range to initiate automated docking procedures. We have been cleared to dock at Gate 3... the station looks like it could be finished!


Gotta give it to the brass... they always know how to keep a good secret. If the Commander approves I will begin our approach. Look at the size of that thing... they must have been using DS9 for quite sometime to transport resources here so swiftly. The FEARLESS begins to shake violently. Several bridge officers are thrown to the flooring instantly while others attempt to brace themselves to try and maintain their balance and composure. The Chief Engineer upon DECK 22 begins to pick himself off the edge of the database station he seconds ago was clinging to. Frantically typing into his PADD his focused desire was to locate the source of the expanding vibrations now felt all over the starship.


Who the hell is screwing with the... dammit!!! ((quickly patches into the PA system)) Cease all work on DECK 13, I repeat... CEASE ALL WORK ON DECK 13!!!


The only orders for that deck were for the Turbolift repairs... working on that couldn't be causing this!?


Whoever is on that deck isn't working on the lift, kid!! I have to get up there... stay here and help with the communication device, I'll head up there myself! ((stumbles))

Christine had her head in a maintenance hatch, looking at one of the many circuit boards and processor units when the ship rocked hard. "What in Jesus' name?!" She exclaimed. Just then, an ensign sped in to the room. Christine came out of the hatch and said, "We just started on this thing an hour ago. Care to give me a hand?"

Thane spotted the Phaser and as the first shot was fired, Thane'd likely take the first shot at the strongest point of the Armour. Thane ducked and rolled behind one of the consoles or barriers in the generator room that wont explode if shot. "Security Alert! Deck 13!" Popping up Thane'd throw the Tricorder at the Officer's Torso, the aim to wind or knock him over.

DECK 13 - MAIN ENGINEERING - Stardate 58370.2 - July 18, 2381 - 1106

Thane spotted the Phaser and as the first shot was fired, Thane'd likely take the first shot at the strongest point of the Armour. Thane ducked and rolled behind one of the consoles or barriers in the generator room that wont explode if shot. "Security Alert! Deck 13!" Popping up Thane'd throw the Tricorder at the Officer's Torso, the aim to wind or knock him over.

Lines arc towards Thane in mere mili-seconds. Two of them land upon his chest just as he avoids the third while performing an awkward breakfall behind a nearby obstruction for cover. Both of the shots were absorbed by his armor however because of the unique accuracy and weapon of his unknown assailant, both shots leave a deep imbedded indention.

The assailant quickly catches the Tricorder and runs through the sliding doors while firing two more shots towards Thane. The turbolift opens and the Assailant fires his weapon again killing 4 engineers before they can draw their own phasers. The Assailant then fires at the turbolifts control panel and then makes his way inside the doors of the stairway.

The bodies of the engineers lay motionless within the pathway of the turbolift just as a small explosion occurs where the controling console resided. The doors of the turbolift contract and expand within a repeated motion just enough to slightly move the lifeless forms sprawled within.

Christine came out of the hatch and said, "We just started on this thing an hour ago. Care to give me a hand?"

Christine smiled at the ensign and said, "I just noticed something quite odd and maybe concerning." They both heard the red alert klaxon sound.



"And that," she said, bemused, "tells us we need to get this fixed at warp speed." She brought the detached wire down and showed it to the ensign. "I'm thinking this was the act of sabotage. What do you think?"

The hard, cold deck rose to meet him, it seemed, stunning him for a moment as he impacted against it. He clutched the front of his command chair and quickly scrambled to his feet, shouting, "Tarquin to Main Engineering, whats going on down there, Frov?"

After a few moments, Biiqs added to the duty engineer on the bridge. "Lock down all transporters and oberride the shuttle bay doors. Thane barked into the comm as he drew his Disruptor and began to pursue, the weapon is set to stun and fired multiple shots at the target as he ducked by the engineers and shot the door. "Biiqs we got at least one intruder on this deck, maybe one more! He's fast and strong, get medics down here four engineers down!" He figured they can track them both on internal sensors and got into pursuit!

"Do it," Biiqs said to the tactical officer. "Lock down all access points between decks 11 and 12 and 14 and 15 afterward, just to be sure. Communications, please tell the starbase to stand by, we're experiencing technical problems."

"Biiqs we got at least one intruder on this deck, maybe one more! He's fast and strong, get medics down here four engineers down!" He figured they can track them both on internal sensors and got into pursuit!

Biiqs muttered a Bolian obscenity under his breath. This would be an ideal time to be able to trust the transporters enough to beam out that engineering team, but of course they couldnt be trusted. "Tarquin to Sickbay, get a medical team ready, we have four wounded on Deck 13. I'm sending a security escort to you now; theres no movement on that deck without one as we have an intruder." He turned back to Tactical, "Dispatch that security escort."

"Ops, give me all the internal sensor data you can on Deck 13. I need the position of those engineers relayed to Medical. And we need a position on our intruder, or pair of them. Feed all that to the main viewer. Tag incoming security and medical personnel as friendlies, and get a fix on Commander Thane. Anyone else is tagged as a presumed threat until cleared."

Definitely Lt.! Those lines show signs of being tampered with... we can fix them... but we need to get a repair crew within a Jeffries Tube to check the entire line feed to make sure there are no other gaps that have been created by saboteurs. I will climb down if you allow me and get started. Maybe you could request some of our non-commissioned officers to help, since most of our engineers were heading to main engineering? Upon hearing the alarm he had only took one step within the stairway when the reverberation of the klaxon's begun to wail within his ears causing him to grimace while gritting his teeth, and clasping his hands upon his ears. His weapon no longer within his grasp begins a long cascading journey down the stairwell, bouncing from one side to the next.

Regaining his control over his senses the Assailant leaps over the initial side of the stair case to the opposite side dropping more then 16 feet to the bottom with relative ease. Just as he reaches for his moments ago lost weapon he hears the Forcefield come down in front of the sliding doors directly in front of him. Wrinkling his face in anger he fires multiple bursts towards the shield. Realizing his dilemma he adjusts the setting on his phaser to the highest lethal level and aims towards the flooring continuously.

"Biiqs we got at least one intruder on this deck, maybe one more! He's fast and strong, get medics down here four engineers down!" He figured they can track them both on internal sensors and got into pursuit!

Give me an identification on their species as soon as you can, and your recommendations for flooding the area with an incapacitating gas, like anesthizine. We’ll try to neutralize them safely before they can do more damage. Ensign Boyd, take cover with the rest of the team where you are. Do not attempt to move the bodies yet. We can’t afford to have unnecessary movement until this situation is resolved.

Christine thought for a minute, then spoke quickly. "We could shunt all that excess power through the phaser array," she said, then backpedaled to another idea, "No! Through the deflector dish!"

"Approved. Execute that immediately!" Biiqs briefly addressed the helm officer. "Rotate the ship 180 degrees so that the deflector dish is facing away from the station."

"Lt. Urquhart, have you isolated the source of the buildup?"

"Still working on it now," she said, "Comms should be up any minute. What's going on in engineering?"

"Good work Lieutenant. We've got hostiles on Deck 13 near Main Engineering. Commander Thane flushed them out earlier. We think we've got them pinned down now, but move with caution if you must, but the best thing to do is to stay where you are until the Red Alert has ended."
