As per the title I'm a newbie - have a lvl 65 character atm (Federation aligned Romulan, Engineer career path) but not been 65 for long - reputations are currently all at Tier 2 (will start to get them to tier 3 tomrrow), nowhere near having specialisations maxed, commendations are at Rank 1( except espionage which is rank 2) and an endeavor rank of 8.

In terms of ships I have a Temporal Battlecruiser T6 (from a promo code, my current ship, using beam overload) and a Tzaenkethi Shuk-din Escort T6 (another promo code courtesy of a friend who has a bunch of the rpg stuff but doesn't play sto). I'm contemplating splashing the cash to get the 12th Anniversary Terran bundle but wonder if/how often they have zen on sale or this bundle on sale?

I'm aware the temporal recruit event starts on tuesday and will be creating a TOS character to take advantage of this.

What I'm looking for is advice as to what sort of build I could do with either of my T6 ships using basically gear you get from missions or cheap things from the exchange or elsewhere (I've opened a few phoenix packs so I can get things like the red-matter capacitor). Builds using lots of stuff from the higher tiers of reputation are no good because I'm not there yet, likewise I lack the ec to buy loads of epic mark XV gear from the exchange. I'm up to 65k fleet credits but I'm still at cadet rank in the fleet so can't actually purchase anything from there yet so again not much point recommending lots of stuff only available via fleet stores.

I'm also after any advice as to what I could do with my temporal agent character - my current thought is I'll make him tactical for the career path but haven't thought much beyond that.

Hey Kithran, you can do a lot worse than go to Augmented Dictator's Youtube channel, he generally has some builds that don't need endgame equipment. You can always head over to the stobuilds subreddit to see if there's anything of interest. I've gottena couple of decent builds from there in the past.

Another good resource to check out is the STO BETTER site. It is run by some of the main gurus on the STObuilds reddit. They offer some beginner guidance, tier lists for traits and doffs, and some samples of ships the 3 of them actually run for various purposes. The examples tend to be general play builds rather than hyper-tuned for specific maps like ISE.
