We will be performing shard maintenance on April 6 from 7-9:30 AM Pacific (14:00-16:30 UTC).

General:

Resolved an issue where the captain's weapon skill scaling was not working on the primary and secondary fire when using Universal Kit Module - Voth Mechanized Exosuit.
Resolved a visual issue in Earth Space Dock that caused some ceilings to become invisible.

Now my question: "around the clock" = "Over the course of our afternoon/evening"???

I don't think they're lying but I also don't see them necessarily working around the clock, unless they split into teams, people gotta sleep.

Both games affected for three days they are losing big money.

Yep. Although at least the "good" news is that it's affecting both Neverwinter and STO which would imply it's a server side issue and not an issue with the games themselves so that's something I guess. But then again if it's a server side issue, why need to patch the game? Unless it's both.

Interestingly the issue doesn't seem to be affecting console STO at the moment only PC STO and Neverwinter so must be something in how they configure the PC servers. I haven't been able to check this as I have little time to play on STO recently but nobody in my PS4 fleet is saying anything about STO being down their end. Hope they sort it out soon and don't accidentally bring it over to console in like 1.5 months time.
