Figured I would make this so we can share how our day is going..
Today 4/12/23:
I had my first exam to do on the computer today at school, the Arizona state Science exam for 11th grade (despite I'm still technically in 10th grade). My buddy Kaine was doing it too, and boy it was exhausting.
60 questions over 3 sections in one hour. It won't get better tomorrow because I'm doing the ACT on the computer. The ACT is basically an exam that can help me get into university/college. And since I'm taking it with the essay portion it will be like 4.5 hours of testing....
Overall I'm doing good. Counting down the days till SNW s2 comes out!!

Ok.. I think this thread is starting to turn into posts about my daily life.
It's ok! Starfleet officers and Federation citizens, I hope you like my log.
Today 4/13/23:
The main focus of today was that my friend Kaine and I were in the same room together at school taking the ACT. I pray we both get our desired scores.
The ACT involved 5 sections: English, Mathmatics, Reading, Science and Writing. Kaine and I started at 8:45 this morning, and completed the entire exam by 11:35. With 3 breaks in between. Before the exam we had to fill out pre-testing info on our laptops.
When I got home I had to log into the ACT student portal, fill in a bit more required information and choose no more than 4 colleges/universities to have my ACT scores sent to as well. I chose 3 universities.
1. The University of Arizona. It's close to where I live.
2. Ewha Woman's university in Seoul, South Korea.. my dream school.
3. Seton hall university in New Jersey. My dad wants me to go there.
I'm relieved that it's over!! My score report will be available in 2-8 weeks, and my estimated composite score in 3-6 days. Next school year I have to take the state civics exam.
Today my mood is good. I'm only feeling good vibes!!
Also, the one scene from TOS where Kirk and Scotty are talking after a fight with klingons... reminds me of when my younger brother and I argue.. lol!

Hey everyone. I forgot to post yesterday because I was a little tired.
How my day went: 4/14/23
I went on a field trip with my special needs high school campus, as well as the elementary school campus! It was fun. I got a little sunburnt on the back of my neck bc my teacher gave me sunscreen and I couldn't reach back there and of course I'm the only girl in my school (as my friend Jess came out as transgender) so no one could help.
Only had a minor panic attack because I'm sensitive to loud noises but it went good.
Here are some sketches I've done: Gender bent Sulu, Kirk and Pike with a kpop touch!

AnnaOfStarfleet's log 4/23/23.
Sorry guys, I've been really busy lately. But the good news is I got my composite ACT exam score, which is 15 out of 36. I'm still waiting for the essay portion to be scored. That is scored between 2-15 separate points.
On Friday night my dad took my brother and I to see the Super Mario bros movie! And it was in 3D!! It was a good movie.
Today I'm going to a baseball game with my dad and brother. Go Diamondbacks!!
Also the other day I did some Uhura inspired makeup and did a casual cosplay of her. Later ill post about it and describe how I did it in a separate thread. As I plan on wearing that makeup today.

Good morning!
Well... I got my new pair of glasses yesterday afternoon. Due to the fact that I had some heavy problems reading things whilst wearing my old "normal" spectacles my optician's opinion was that I should try varifocals. Oh boy, what a change...!
Now I have to learn getting used to them as well as living with them - a process that might definitely take some time.
Wish me luck!
Oh dear.. AlexRider I know how you feel. I have worse eyesight than my mother, and at age 17 I'm wearing a very strong prescription of bifocals.
Instead of every year like most people go see the optician, I usually have to go a few months earlier, so usually every 8 months. It's a good thing I have three health insurance plans that cover glasses!! I'm starting to feel like over the summer I might need to go back..
Hopefully by the time I'm 19 and finish school my eyesight stops changing so I can get the laser surgery to fix my eyes before I go to university in South Korea!!
It's gonna be okay. I've been wearing glasses since second grade in elementary school. The floor does look a little wobbly when you first get your new glasses right??
My advice is to take it easy and here's a tip: if you feel your eyes straining from the new prescription it's okay to take them off for a few minutes. Maybe put a cloth soaked in warm water and put it on your eyes and relax. That's what helps me!

Bifocals at your age is not common. It is very rare to have bifocal glasses at this young age.
In 15 years that I had been an optician myself I only had 1 child with special prescriptions for that kind of glasses. All of the rest were 40+ of age.
(And if you wonder why my occupation in my bio on the UFP page says something else, then I can answer you right away that I stopped practicing optometry and started a new carrier a while ago )
And to Alex, for you it is more common to have this issue, no worries, that’s nature

Wow.. Yeah my mother was a similar way with her eyesight back in her younger days. Her eyesight was so bad she just nearly got considered legally blind.. which I'm praying that doesn't happen to me.
My prescription is stronger on my left lens of my glasses because I also have moderate lazy eye. But my optometrist is very careful when adjusting my prescriptions because I have a history of getting a severe migraine every now and then..
It's a little hard to see the board at school but I'm gonna tough it out till July. So I can get an updated prescription before the next school term starts in august and so I don't fail the eye exam at the nurses office exam for the second time in a row. :/

Smart move from your optometrist to not overcorrect one of the 2. With a lot of difference between the 2 eyes it can be Easley over corrected.
I had a lot of those cases in the (old) days and when you get to know your patients, then it is ok, but when you have them for the first time in your chair, it can be tricky
Also about your mother, there are alot of disagreements on whether it is in your dna and you can inherit it from your family or not but my idea is that it is a coincidence when you have excactly the same eye sight problem as your mother but that is my opinion. Not every optometrist agrees but another part of them do so it’s 50/50 on that one

Petty Officer Anna's log: 4/30/23
Outside of the discussion about glasses/vision issues earlier I'm doing relatively ok.
I got my hair trimmed and cut yesterday and im trying to style it like Captain Janeway when she had short hair. Luckily my mom is letting me use her curling iron. And yes, I've been watching voyager.
One of my mom's boyfriends dogs is being put down tomorrow. I've met him, and he's a sweet boy. His name is Shiloh, and he's a 14 year old mastiff and he has really bad cancer.. Tomorrow he will finally cross over and play all the time with one of moms boyfriends other dogs that got put down last year, Wyatt aka Wy-Wy. I'm sure Wy-Wy will be the first to welcome Shiloh when he leaves this world.
Some good news: the essay portion of the university admissions exam has been scored. It's scored between 2 and 12. I scored 8 points on the essay. And I'm definitely looking into attending Ewha Woman's university in Seoul.
I've only got 3.5 weeks of school left before I'm out for summer! One of my friends Jess is graduating high school in less than 2 weeks. So imb wishing her the best. Tomorrow, may 1st begins the pre registration for the library summer reading program online!
I will go make some coffee now, even though it's almost 4 PM. I prefer my coffee decaf (because if I have ANY caffeine with one of my mental health medications, lithium carbonate it will make me very sick) and with some sugar free vanilla creamer. We just got groceries delivered at moms house... I've been craving some coffee for awhile.
Anna out!

Yes, you´re right. The floor looks wobbly with the new glasses, but fortunately I am improving so I should be okay in a few days. Thanks for your advice using a piece of cloth. I am going to try it out!
I am sorry to hear this about Shiloh. It´s sad, but I´m sure he will be happy after crossing the rainbow-bridge and meeting his friends again. All the best to you and your family. Are you planning to get a new dog?
So.. let's see. It is May 1st today which means it's a bank holiday in Germany. Fortunately the weather will be very nice again so I might spend most of the time outside in the garden doing some... well...gardening... and having a cup of coffee. Coffee is life!
Have a nice Monday!
Hey, I know it's 1 AM here where I'm at, but I can't sleep because of how sad I am.
I'm not sure if Jesse, my moms boyfriend will get a new dog. 4 months ago he adopted a puppy named Louie, and Louie is now 6 months old.
Shiloh helped tame Louie's rowdyness. It's going to be hard not crying in the middle of class. If I need to, I'll ask to speak to the guidance counselor...
If only my younger brother were into Star Trek!! He loves gardening as well, and I'm sure he would send you plenty of PM's.
He has grown strawberries, basil, and plenty of fresh lettuce in the past.
Except his raised bed dad built fell apart. They plan to build another one!
Anyways, today I will try and make it a positive day. I won't cry for Shiloh, just being grateful he's gonna be in a better place soon.
A heartwarming thing my mom and her boyfriend did for him was give him a human food bucket list. He's had chicken nuggets and fries, a cheeseburger, a cheese pizza to himself, sesame chicken from moms favorite Chinese restaurant, ice cream, and for his final dinner last night a big steak. He's gonna have a full belly when he crosses over!
They gave him a bath and brushed him so he can be extra happy. He's leaving us in style, that's for sure!
I will try and rest now!

Petty Officer Anna's log: 5/7/23
Good early morning to everyone here on the UFP. Sorry I haven't been active as much. It's around 1 AM here. I'm not feeling too great.
When I go to my dads house around 9:30-10 AM, dad and I plan to watch the Wrath of Khan movie. But honestly part of me doesn't want to because I'm in a manic cycle with my bipolar disorder. I don't have the attention span right now.
I have literally 13 school days left before out for summer! I have big plans for the summer. I plan to work on sewing pet blankets for the animal shelter, do some crafts with mom, June 26th-30th I'll be in California with my dad and brother spending time on the beach, watching Star Trek strange new worlds S2 when it comes out... I also plan on improving myself physically and mentally.
My brother and I have decided what we plan to dress up as on Halloween already!! We are having a battle of the doctors! He is going as a plague doctor for literally the 4th year in a row, while I'll be going as a slightly feminine version of Dr. McCoy! I should start practicing my acting skills and work on Leonard McCoy's signature gruff attitude. I can do a pretty good voice impression of him too. (Not as good as my impression of Kirk)
If Star Trek characters suddenly became Star Wars characters, McCoy would be Han Solo.
Oh, I have a friend on Facebook who's deaf. And she loves Star Trek. She's never heard the characters voices, so I decided to open up a world to her by describing each of the characters voices. Her favorite character is Spock, and when I told her on messenger chat he sounds very emotionless and a little bland, she was really surprised. So, needless to say Miss Bella is like the little mermaid wanting to explore and imagine what the voices sound like.
I wish I could give miss Bella my hearing for 20 min so she could listen to what Kirk, Scotty, Sulu, Uhura and the gang sound like.
Well, I should rest now. . Be on later!
