Happy spooky month.

Gotten some excellent news, there is a renaissance fair happening in November and I'm going to be setting up a booth for my books to promote and sell. I've gotten several fans here now. My wife talks about my book and my sales are increasing, along with those joining my fan page on facebook are increasing. Maybe this is the big break I need to get my books out on the world stage. With some luck, Delveon will be spoken of along the same lines as Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. With all the positive reviews on amazon, it's possible. Who would of thought that moving to this magical place, that so many opportunities would open up to me?

My first book signing event, and I'm not sure what to think, but those who live on the island who love my book said they can't wait to see me in person and get some autographs. I'm excited and yet, nervous.

S0 i know I've been out of the loop a while, and this isn't an official log. I will get back to those. Been busy getting ready for my first book promotion here in Hilo HI! Going to be at the renaissance faire doing book signing, promoting, and engaging fellow fantasy nerds. Have 15 copies of my books along the way to sign and sell. This wasn't my idea, but i have a small fan club here now and they thought it would be a great idea. So who knows, maybe this is my big break. And since I'm doing this, I'm going to try and get more books out on the market. Since there is now a demand for the first book, they are going to want more. So I'm hard core editing book 2 of the series and the first chronicle (back story) series of books.

Not going to get my hopes up, but i feel good that others are taking a huge interest in my works, and even making an impact on others through my words.

There is a short preview there with the first few pages. I know I haven't been super active lately. but with this faire coming up, I really need to get the next books in the series out there if this goes well for me.

Now the lady who claimed my book with the same pen name as me, I have no idea who she is. Amazon is being less than helpful over getting her claim off of it. So only Delveon is mine, the other stuff, I haven't a clue. But i still get royalties from it not her. So it's low priority for me at the moment.

Cool as. It's an interesting looking story. Might buy a copy come next pay. Unfortunately being paid monthly means you have to budget everything in advance. Don't worry about your activity m8. Real life is the priority especially when its your livelihood and passion. To be honest, I've been debating on making a rival thread about New Zealand in response to all your Hawaii promotion. So I could use the extra time to prepare while your away

Petty Officers Log November 3rd

Birthday coming up soon. 45. All down hill from here as far as health goes. Getting a new wheelchair tomorrow, but I'm also going to my favorite steakhouse to celebrate.


And I have much to celebrate. So on the 11th as everyone knows, I have my first book signing at the renaissance faire.
The week after I have a book signing at the local high/middle/grade school for a faire they are putting on. Yes all 3 share the same block and it's in the open area between all 3 schools. Should see it on the map it's over 100 aches devoted to just the schools.

Then after the new year and after book 2 is available on amazon, I have a book signing at the local comic book shop to promote both.

I might not be world famous yet, but to be famous in Hawaii, well I'll take it. Small steps lead to big steps.

So for all you back in the states and trapped in the northern hemisphere, gl with the snow. My brother called from northern Indiana and it was 22F outside. I didn't have the heart to tell him it was 77F at the time here.

Petty officers log November 11.

It's 7 am here now. Ren faire starts in 3 hours. I have posters, books, and prints of characters to sell. I hope all goes well here. I sold 4 books this week just in preparation today. As my wife and close friends just talking about it, has been getting them sold around town. The bank, post office, stores.

I would be lying if I didn't say I was nervous about today.

I will follow up with a supplemental with pictures when I get home 12-15 hours from now.

Petty Officers Log Nov 13.

Wow the Honoka'a ren faire was a blast. High wind, but that's all of Hawai'i for the most part. Yes the ' is supposed to be in there. The native's spell it that way and the pronunciation is ee ee. Learned a few things over the busy weekend.

So I sold out of books in the first 3 hours i was there. People came from as far as California to be there. Signed character prints, signed books, took selfies and posed with fans. Made enough to get book 2 into production. Waiting on the cover artist to get back to me with concepts. Have the isbn and barcode already assigned. I just can't believe that people love my book so much and the world i built. One fan is wanting to work with me to build a game system based on the world itself. Met some artists that's going to help draw up the world and their inhabitants.

I do this all over again December 2nd. Need to order more books to sell and promote.

Petty officers log: November 21st.
Fall has come to the big island and that means more rain. And with more rain, means more rainbows. My wife sends me pictures every day from her work where rainbows almost make a full circle.

Yesterday I said I had good news. So here it is.

Book 2 will be out shortly. The cover art has been done, copyright is being processed, and with the enthusiasm around here, more book signings. Have 2 now in January at 2 different book stores. Oh and the art for book 2? Well judge for yourself. Let me know what you think. Always appreciate feedback.

Chief Petty officers log Jan 7, 2024.

Sorry for not keeping this up lately. Been busy with Christmas and book sales, signings, and fighting with the post office.

new year, new goals. Have my books in 2 books stores here on the island along with amazon now. Have 2 book signings, but one isn't until October. The bookstore in Kona has author nights every week and I was lucky to get booked so early. Hoping this means my books will sell there fast. Large outside shopping mall with ton's of tourist traffic.

Also went to the beach on Christmas. Was fun to try out the new snorkeling full face masks. (they are awesome) Just getting used to the fact you're not drowning is difficult to get used to. While in Kona yesterday, we went to Magic sands. Waves were pretty big and the boogie boarding was awesome. Did some snorkeling there too and it's so interesting that schools of fish swim around the beaches, not giving a crap there are people everywhere.
