Legacy was also the name of a Star Trek game from 2006 developed by Mad Doc and published by Bethesda.
It was a fun game, but man did it have problems at times, I still have my copy somewhere, sometimes I want to reinstall it and play through the story. hearing all 5 Captains, freakin' awesome.

I like the idea of a Star Trek: The Next, Next Generation television show. Having watched TOS as a young kid and when TNG came on air soon thereafter, I felt that was the series I grew up with. So this would certainly bring back some nostalgia and introduce Star Trek to a whole new generation. Involving a legacy character like Seven of Nine would be a nice touch to attach TOS and TNG in the great Star Trek tapestry.
That said, the existence of Strange New Worlds sort of fulfils that role as it stands. Consider it a soft reboot for the franchise I suppose. So while I love the idea of a "Star Trek: The Next, Next Generation." I can also see why Paramount would stay away from Star Trek Legacy... at least until it becomes a feasible idea. But like I'm sure many of us, I hope they reconsider this in the future so we can see the adventures of the Enterprise-G on air...

Sadly, I believe this article makes it clear that the ST:L idea is very unlikely, which is sad because I felt it could have generated as much or more interest as STNW.

I think that having a sequel built on TNG is a good idea. I would also be all for them integrating some of the story concepts from STO into the show and have different results and what not.
I say concepts, because you'd have the Romulan Republic, the Klingon Civil War, Dominion, Iconians, to work with. You don't need to have them play out similarly. Each would play out different in Legacy, as people have passed away, there's differences in timeline stuff. It would be all sorts of fun. Not saying they have to copy everything STO does, but it would really interesting to see a different take on things that happened in STO.
We could even do a cross over episode that revitalizes the City on the Edge of Never episode(s). Have the Legacy and STO crews save the day, with Lt. ... Oh I forget her name. She shows up with Tuvok at the start of the Delta stuff. She's also briefly in some other episodes. Ugh, can't remember her name at all.
Anyways, she can be with the STO crew and provide the voice, saying that for whatever reason they can only communicate via voice. Except the Legacy crew realize that they aren't actually from their timeline, but play along with the secrecy thing. They both work to stop the timeline of the Prime universe being changed, while also assuring that the trouble coming from the STO timeline is taken care of.
Then you could do synergy by having this be in the game and have it from the STO's perspective. Though, considering they don't ever really do that, this is mostly a pipe dream I'm thinking of. However, it is fun to think about.

Right, she's an LtC. I forgot about that. Thanks. But yeah. Her. Basically make it like how the Enterprise couldn't chat with us except via Spock's voice, do the same with VanZyl.
Though you could also do it where the F and G crews are saving the day, but get overwhelmed via the odds, only for the F to call in the cavalry. Have the Bortasqu', Lleiset and the faction Captains save them. With ships like the Guardian, Klinzhai, Constitution, Glenn, Vanguard, and the Nijil.
Why those ships for each faction? Constitution and Vanguard provide the pets to even up the odds. The Constitution and Glenn are the most noticeable designs for ships, so that would intrigue people. The Klinzhai and Nijil can showcase the specializations. The Guardian was chosen simply to give a nod to the very first T6 starship and just because I love the Guardian.
More seriously, since I know it'll never happen. I would say that if we did a Legacy show, it would be interesting to have Legacy be both about the good and bad of Legacies. Like having some of the crew be part of failures and how it stained their images, but Seven is going out of her way to make sure that they can forge new Legacies than the ones in the past or what have you.
