Problem Title
STO with P4 HT 3ghz
Operating System
Windows XP
Description of the Problem
I thought the min requiment for any game is a P4 but do i have to have duo core to play this even if i have hyper thread on which makes the pc think there is 2 processors working
s0 question is can i run STO on this PC which has P4 Ht chip ??
What Graphics card do you use
Radeon HD 5750

i know its not great but i did a bench test so you see what it is

Just an above word this cannot qualify for {UFP} offical response

However

I've done some extensive searching of STO's tech support forums and other information and then cross referenced that with what you've posted here.

Even though your Processor doesn't meet the minimum requirements, if only barely, it should run. There may be a some performance issues and you may need use lower graphic resolution some but as far as the rest goes.

It should work

2.8 is still a larger number than 1.8 right? I get that it is because its a dual core but still reads pretty funny.

Would you be able to overclock it a bit to get a little extra performance?

over clock ? :s um something not thought of doing i have to reserch it i haved they managed to get over 3ghz out these things

nope cant overclock it something to do with the custom Dell PSU and motherbord o well never mind i wait till tuesday when i get main internet on do trail account give it whirl i guess if it works ok i get Sub for main account

Ouch, I wouldnt reccomend overclocking a P4 if you dont have any experience with things like that. But with a graphics card like that you should at least be able to run it at the most minimal settings. Good luck

the strange thing is i stuck Legacy on today and it runs at highest setting so i am kinnda confused on this i understand it an old game but the processor came out roughly the same time as the game did

I think the P4 was around quite a few years before that but i remember the game lagging like crazy on Mt P4 thanks to my crappy graphics but you have an average graphics card so you should be able to run STO at least on minimal.
