On the STO website... after I created my first account on the Alienware arena site.

Basically, I now have 2 STO accounts. My regular lifer and my 60-day new account.

If people already have accounts why would they want to sign up for a second account? Surely you would want to keep playing your primary account rather than starting from scratch?

I do hope that the bulk of the keys do go to new players rather than existing players. I would imagine the goal is to get more people playing STO rather than getting existing players to create temporary secondary accounts.

Yes, I'm sure that was the intended goal. In reality, what's stopping people without lifetime accounts to get multiple keys and try out multiple character builds before settling on one? Nothing

Well it was a region locked promotion as far as I know so thats probably why some of you were getting "0 Keys available"

I managed to get a key before they caught (and I knew that it was an issue) the old accounts being able to redeem keys issue. So I ended up getting the items and time... not sure if their going to rip the time and stuff off me but I'll see. But hey I got to try out the NX in my Low Level Ferengi that I never use.

i argree chris , a mate of mine was interested in the STO scene when it first came out but he was like most left due to bugs etc.. but now after few up dates i thought it would be idea to sign up for it , and see for him self how it has changed ,

What I have been reading this free keys was brought out and already members where getting just for the kit etc and to be honset after the second look into the game from my point of view it has changed so much and i am proud to return to the STO scene

I have two friends who have installed the game and created their accounts. With one of them, I did a bunch of missions with last night. He really enjoyed it. So perhaps at least one new player for this one free key.

lol..thats alot of doors ! Seems STO is shopping for more customers..They need more honey to sweeten the pot than a few drops if they want to increase membership in there game.
