Is that the map he wants to hang up in the White House beside pieces of genuine art in order to stroke his ego?
I'll just say that when someone disgraces their office, they are undeserving of the respect that office would normally entail.
Trump is a disgrace.

Interesting I just brought this point up. I guess it now ok to disrespect the office of the president.
Hasn't it always been okay to disrespect any leader of a free country? That is what free speech is, if you can't be critical of your own leader, then there is no free speech. People disrespected Obama when he was in office and Bush, quite possibly those before him too.
Let us not forget that Trump disrespected Obama on many occasions, while Obama was in office. You reap what you sow.

One point to say something. Another to make a message about murder, which on many occasions these threats were made. If made on any other president extreme measures were taken. That's with any official in office. If you turn the blind eye to this what's wrong with the racist in charlottesville I suppose that's freedom of speech to, but yeah lets denounce that.
Just a side note, no way am I saying it was ok what happened in Charlottesville.

If threats are made, that's a criminal act and should fall under such, I'm not sure what point you are tying to make, sorry!
Anyone should be free to criticise and mock their leader, that's free speech.
If you are specifically referring to Kathy Griffin that you linked, it was clearly a joke and not a death threat, it was in poor taste. She was pressured into apologising because of outcry about it, now she backtracks or something, that's her business. Her action is not comparable to the racist marches, it's a false equivalence.
My point is more around generally insulting and criticising the leader, there should be no such thing as "disrespecting the office", that flies in the face of free speech.

Its unnerving you think the media is perfect.
Everything you've said is unnerving haha it's not about the media being perfect; it's about how bad Trump is as President.

Interesting I just brought this point up. I guess it now ok to disrespect the office of the president. So many celebrities have done this if the former was still in office they would of all been taken down and sent to fed prison. I dont care what anyone says. Just down right disrespectful. Most the time I see trump just fighting dirty with those around him. Guess that's part of business world to.
Then again a lot of those say he isnt their president so they just disrespect him anyways. Last I check he won the election, before you go nuts about the more number of voters look at this district map. This is why we have electoral college.
Attachment 7402
I highly disagree with Dark's statement. He is a elected official. Not a god. Point of it wasn't to show the faults of one to justify another. It was to show how crazy this country is getting because of one man.
- - - Updated - - -
not sure why it doubled imaged. But whatever lol.
Dude, you crazy, too? haha why showing the election results? Do you honestly believe people don't know how the counties voted? Seriously?
Remember when celebrities, Fox News and others accused Obama of all kinds of things that weren't true? Anyone can accuse anyone of anything. This is why the media is important because, again, it's ALL RECORDED. Everything Trump denies is on record. Everything.
Trump's fighting dirty? He's not even fighting; he's just mouthing off. His own party and administration don't know what planet he's on haha what does the business world have to do with anything?
People saying that he's not their President is disrespectful? That's where you draw the line of being disrespectful? Best reread the link I provided in the original post. Trump crossed that line in the 80s hahaha
The country is getting crazy because this "one man" represents the citizens of the United States, falsely.

I don't understand how people can have this philosophy and be fans of Star Trek. ST stands in the face of people who act like Trump; it's a future that is totally opposite from Trump's philosophy. ST teaches justice, self-discipline, respect, ethics, tolerance, patience, AND science.
I can't get enough and I'm glad when certain others have their fill.

I understand that political discussions can be heated and people have strong beliefs, however it would be appreciated if we can refrain from name calling and direct insults please.
And, on a more humorous note, here's a fun quiz: Who Said It: Donald Trump or Donald Duck?

In my opinion since reading this thread from the beginning it's less a discussion and more about certain vocal individuals trying to impose their beliefs on others that may or may not share their same opinion. I personally don't have an opinion on this matter either way I didn't vote in this election due to my belief that all of the candidates were not good choices. Before anyone decides to tell me that I don't have any right to say anything about the election because I didn't vote I will remind you that CHOOSING to not vote is not the same as just not caring enough to vote.
I care deeply about this country, so much so that I've spent 15 years of my life in the military and for the past year as a government employee. I'm not ignorant to the ways of politics I get to deal with it everyday and I understand that individuals feel very strongly about this topic, however I hope that we can all treat each other civilly here.

Okay, I had to give it a try... I got 17/19 on the Who Said It: Donald Trump or Donald Duck. I'm a Donald Expert!
On another note to answer the initial question: no, I don't think President Trump is crazy. He's doing what he knows best, running the country like how he's always acted: like a businessman. That's what he does, and although he does say some stupid and crazy stuff (mostly on Twitter, but not limited to Twitter), I don't believe he is actually crazy.
We are divided, but it isn't because of Trump. We've been divided long before Trump became the 45th president of the United States. People have been going "crazy" or crazier long before Donald Trump took office. There seems to be an ongoing war on who can be offended or play the victim card the most. There are groups that say they're "peaceful" and end up violent (all of which--no matter the party affiliation--should be thrown in jail or labeled as terrorists IMO). There are people provoking others, lying, and calling other names to make their own opinion seem to matter more regardless of facts. There are people destroying public and private property all in the name of being offended like some kid throwing a tantrum.
And all blamed on or because of President Trump.
That's the crazy and ridiculous part. No one can blame someone else for their own actions or even feelings. Another person cannot control what you feel or what you decide to do. Each person makes their own decisions and chooses to act the way they act.
Star Trek and specifically the Federation was based on an ideal--a utopia where everyone wasn't out for themselves but for the betterment of all mankind; of every individual, not just the minorities or majorities. Each person who contributed to this ideal (and I would go so far as to say most everyone did in one form or another contribute) did so not wanting more power or riches for themselves. They cared about what was morally right, about respect for each other, and about honor. They'd find peaceful resolutions and only resort to fighting back when the opposing side wanted nothing else but to cause harm.
We're not there yet, and we have a long ways to go to be able to get there--if it's even possible at all.
Anyways, that's my two cents...

1st. Presidents can only serve 2 terms.. a total of 8 years, so yes Obama is done. Reread the Constitution, the 22nd Amendment.
2nd. Your statement about the media... they may have RECORDED it, but they can and do EDIT it to fit the story they're trying to spin, that's been proven over and over again. If you think the media is always right, I've got ocean front property in Arizona for you.
As far as that last statement goes, everyone is entitled to their opinion, that is also something that Star Trek stands for. Since you seem to want to belittle other people's beliefs, maybe you need to revisit yours since you have shown that you aren't respectful, disciplined, patient, or tolerant.
Lifeforms.... you precious little lifeforms.... where are you?? I just love scanning for lifeforms..

Well, I guess I need to clarify "disrespecting the office" making such threats as assassination or murder is what I was talking about. Had nothing to do with criticizing a official in office. Someone showing a severed head of office official is pretty clear their intentions. But whatever.
When Ted Nugent said "We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their [the Obama administration’s] heads off in November,” and “If Barack Obama becomes the next president in November, again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year", Trump's response (his tweet on May 31, 2017) was "Ted Nugent was obviously using a figure of speech, unfortunate as it was. It just shows the anger people have towards @BarackObama."
How's that for "making such threats"? That's certainly far more direct and explicit than some comedian's failed publicity stunt, and Trump's response was basically "but whatever". He also didn't seem to have any issues with effigies of Obama being hung.
But hey, Nugent kept calling for the murder of high ranking government officials like Obama and Hillary after that, and Trump condemned it then. No wait, he got elected and invited Nugent into the White House for a photo op. But whatever.
