I totally agree if you are introducing yourself or someone introducing you.

But someone once explained, a retired Navy guy, that in everyday or work conditions, using "Lieutenant Commander" may add to confusion when shouting orders or providing status.

Someone may only hear "Lieutenant" and not the "Commander" part. But in truth, as I was told, it takes too long to say. Most of the time, he said the enlisted referenced their officers as "Sir" or "Mister <Name>". Still, he said the Commanding Officer, was always referred to as their rank "Commander" (even if a Lieutenant Commander) or "Captain" if they were a ship captain, but not the rank of Captain.

Maybe it's interchangeable? Silynn's explanation makes the most sense in most situations (especially stressful). Yet maybe the full and accurate rank is used for formal discussions.

I don't know about you, but my mom uses my full name when I *needed* her attention, if you know what I mean.

OOC: Hey Allan, again great job at writing so far, I just have a few things to discuss. With your recent post, you gave answers to a lot of what my character Angus had been saying. I have been struggling to figure out how to add this all in because it would look like I was just ignoring your work. So if you don't mind I would like to just fiddle with the words a bit and in what order they were said, this is just to make things run a bit more smoothly. If you disagree that's okay, I can always just retcon it. Oh, and I had to do some research on currencies in the UFP. I have known for quite some time that the UFP abolished money but in some episodes spread out mainly through DS9 and TNG a few characters refer to 'Federation Credits'. Not much is known apart from that so I decided to use them for the Cafe. Again if you disagree I can always go back an edit it.

Hey, great job at writing so far, too. No problem, you can change the sequencing so it flows better, I don't see a problem with that. As for currencies in the UFP, I know about Federation Credits, which was a cool idea. Based off TNG and DS9, I figured they could be used but the majority of those in Starfleet wouldn't use them, Allan Hood as a random sample haha I think it's cool, your character is familiar with them but mine hardly has any experience, used to everything being free

This we could change, having our Cardassian/Jem'Hadar stowaway using the shroud without needing the ketracel-white anymore. Maybe he/she found a way to use the tri-nucleic fungi on Kabrel I to automatically generate ketracel-white in his/her body? Or, medically found how to wean off of it?

If the stowaway gets on from DS9, I don't want anyone to know, yet; it's too early. I'd like the stowaway to stay hidden, making a nest somewhere haha and no one know. He/she could be in the background doing whatever and the crew doesn't know, yet, but we could still write it happening.

So what you’re suggesting is a stowaway Jem’Hadar? Even though I don’t participate in Ares, this sounds really interesting... Perhaps this Jem’Hadar was born with the mutaton that his body naturally produced the White, as that would mean that he didn’t need to take the Ketracel-White. My source:
