April Fools Announcement
With the great success of the United Federation of Planets Award Ceremony (UFPAC) (PRONOUNCED U-F-P-A-C) that has just past in March, Starfleet Command has decided to make a few changes to the whole process to make it more exciting and even more eventful. The ceremony is one of the biggest events of a season, with currently 4 a year, each one is usually found to be more memorable than the next, so making sure that they're the best as they can be is important to SFC. It is after all, a unique event to a Star Trek fleet in any case so Starfleet Command has endeavoured on the question, why not make it even more unique?
Here's a brief overview of the changes we're bringing forward:
- The frequency of the ceremonies, will change from every 3 months to every 2 months, therefore bringing the total a year to 6.
- The amount of hosts will increase from the current 3 to 5, with the hope this will make every UFPAC an even higher profile event.
- In the very near future, the Planning Committee is looking into providing physical prizes to the recipients of medals and promotions at each UFPAC. We previously looked into having a {UFP} Gear shop (which some may have seen several UFPACs ago) however due to copyright issues during that time, it was nonviable. Since those issues have since been resolved though we're very much looking forward to introducing this for the May UFPAC.
- One other change that we're currently exploring which is linked in with the previous point, is that we're currently in touch with a company that manufactures medals down to specification, with the help of Reggie, we'll be able to distribute the medals that people receive for real.
