Just to let you know there are lots of fun events taking place this Saturday if you are free. One of these events is a welcome session for new members, attendance is entirely optional but you are invited to attend should you wish to.

Thanks - a few quick words about myself are in order then.

I'm located in Central Scotland, with a full-time job, and a rather hectic homelife. It means that I don't get quite as much time online as I'd like, but when I do then I want to make sure I'm getting the most out of it. I guess you could say that I've been a casual fan of Science Fiction since my teens, and I'm old enough to remember Tom Baker as the Doctor, and reruns of the original Star Trek series on BBC2. I'm not going to be any more specific about my age at the moment than that (although my first computer gaming was on a ZX81 and later an Acorn Electron).

Still very, very new to STO, having only just kicked off the download earlier this week, but I know that a good community goes a long way to providing the balance between support and participation to change things from feeling like a gatecrasher at a private party, to being a valued and valuable member of society However, I've only started the download after watching enough gameplay videos and researching things enough online to get a good feel for the game. If I'm accepted, you're likely stuck with me for a good long while!

What else can I say at the moment? Other than patiently waiting for when the second series of Defiance is going to hit our screens in June....

I'll be your RSO whilst you settle in here, so if you need and help, guidance, or just someone to chat with, then I'm your first port of call! Mirroring Chris, Saturday is going to be a busy day at the UFP as we're hosting a Gratitude Festival event as well as our first new recruit welcome session which, if you're free and willing, you should come along to as a way to really get a leg up into the community.
