Personal Log – Commander Flores

Stardate: 86333.1

We have the captain on-board and are heading for federation space at maximum warp.

We were able to beam down to the surface as the El Dorado made her pass, thankfully the sensor readings gathered by the Omega were able to pinpoint the captain’s location to the Far East of the facility. As expected, we encountered resistance as we made our way through the facility, however the M.A.C.O’s were able to handle the Security forces albeit with some minor injuries. The Klingons fought ferociously, one can truly see why they are a warrior race.

Upon reaching captain Koloth it was clear to see that the KDF Forces had severely beaten and tortured him, possibly to obtain information regarding Starfleet’s Defensive Deployments. He was unconscious and in a critical condition, the medic was however, able to stabilise him. We were able to also locate a control room for the Prison Facility, we utilised this to our advantage by systematically releasing prisoners in order to aid our escape, as well as obtain a copy of their computer core. I must point out that I did however catch a glimpse of a male human within the prison, the only one here. I have had his description forwarded to Starfleet Command for identification.

The Omega and El Dorado were able to keep the KDF Forces busy long enough for us to return, although both ships have suffered severe damage, they were able to exit the system at maximum speed.

Starfleet command will want to debrief the Captain as soon as is possible, after all, it’s not every day a Starfleet Captain is broken out of Rura Penthe.

My thanks goes to Admiral Quinn along with Captain’s Solace and Soral, without whom this mission would not have been possible, I’m sure captain Koloth will be buying them a Drink at the 602 Club as soon as he is able to.

Personal Log – Captain Koloth

Stardate: 86343.4

It’s been 3 days since Flores led a mission to retrieve me from Rura Penthe, a mission I am truly grateful she was able to accomplish. That place is a horror, you are taken underground to one of the work levels, handed a pickaxe along with your drilling laser and that is your existence until the end. Its bone chillingly cold even in the sub-surface levels, and you can forget about making an escape via the surface, no one survives up there for more than a few hours. It’s such a dark place, and it’s so full of despair, that you start to consider whether it would simply be better just to end it yourself. You really do start to lose hope when you look at those around you who have been there for years, their eyes give it away, they quite simply don’t have any fight left in them, and the light truly has left them!

Admiral Quinn has requested that I make regular visits to Deanna Riker, the Wife of Admiral William Riker and famed Counsellor, who served under Captain Picard. She holds a practice in San-Francisco not too far from Starfleet HQ. He feels that this may be the best route to my recovery. I hope he is right, I can’t eat, I haven’t been sleeping well, and when I do manage to get some sleep, it’s littered with nightmares.

Its going to be a difficult path to recovery, but I’m determined to get there!

Admirals Log (Admiral Quinn)

Koloth’s recovery is going to be a slow and steady one, I have no doubt he will push to be back and ready as soon as is possible, but he needs some time to process what he went through back on Rura Penthe. The fact that he is even back here at earth is nothing short of a miracle, something that Koloth's Crew seem to be able to replicate time and time again. They must be the luckiest crew I have ever come across, not that I am complaining, luck is something that Starfleet could use in heaps and bounds right now.

I have recommended that Koloth visit Counsellor Riker on a regular basis through his recovery, she is quite simply the best at what she does, and for Koloth I think the best is what he needs and deserves.

Whilst he takes time to recuperate I have reassigned his command team to the newly commissioned U.S.S Endeavour under command of Captain Lenara Odan.

Captain Odan is a Trill, she is joined with one of the very oldest and most experienced Symbionts and is one of the Best Starfleet captains I have had the honour of working with. Her work ethos is very much aligned with Captain Koloth’s and I’m sure that Koloth’s Team will give her their very best

Her Symbiont, Odan, is considered to be very old, even by Symbiont standards, having at least 8 Hosts by the mid 21ST Century. Captains Log - Captain Odan

Admiral Quinn has given us our first mission and it could not be more serious. We have reports of a True Way fleet entering the Neutral Zone and picking a fight with the Klingons near the Donatu system.

Having two of our enemies fighting each other is good for the Federation, but Admiral Quinn would like to know why the True-Way are so far out of their territory. He has ordered us to rendezvous with the 2nd Fleet just outside the system and to gather as much information as possible. If we need to engage the Klingon's too, then so be it!

I know that this crew is dedicated to Starfleet, but also to their previous Captain, and from what i have read of Captain Koloth's personnel file that's no surprise. What he has done for this crew is nothing short of Heroic, i just hope i can gain that same trust and respect.

On Arrival in the Donatu System we indeed came across True-Way and Klingon Forces skirmishing. The scene was somewhat surreal. Jem'Hadar Attack Ships, Cardassian Galors and KDF Marauders all fighting it out.......I almost ordered the fleet to back off and leave them to it.

Fortunately by the time we intervened the forces were somewhat depleted thus allowing for a swift victory. The crew handled the situation well and performed their duties admirably.

Commander Flores has suggested that an away team be sent over to the True Way ship Axon. She detected strange readings on-board during the skirmish and they have peaked her interest. I have ordered the 2nd Fleet to 'Clean up' and head back to Starbase 87 once finished. There is no remaining threat in the system thus I have decided to follow Flores' advice and send over an armed away team to investigate.

The Away Team is back, although not without incident. Flores says that when they arrived on the Axon things weren't right. The Away team came across the bodies of several Cardassian crewman that were not injured during the battle. After investigating the source of some very unusual Triolic radiation the |Away Team was attacked by Dividians.

Thankfully everyone is back aboard and accounted for, something unusual when attacked by Dividians. Maybe Admiral Quinn was right about the Luck of this Crew.

Flores gathered as much information from the Axon as was possible before beaming back, which hopefully will provide us with the answer to the worryingly large amount of questions that i have.
