Hey Everyone!
I was thinking about the possibility of adding the option of adding the ability to change rank icon themes on the forums and this was something Dodgers mentioned last night and it seems like a really cool idea. I wanted to gauge your opinions on the idea by putting up this poll 
Last night at the bat'leth tournament Dodgers made a comment about how cool it could be if members could change their faction allegiance so that on the forums they can have Klingon ranks or Federation ranks displayed with their usernames. This could be achieved with a similar system to the planetary system we already have on the site.
An idea of how this could work:
Dodgers is currently a Rear Admiral CO of HoK. The Klingon equivalent could be Lieutenant General or Brigadier General (following the STO ranking system?) As such Dodgers rank icon above his name would be KDF themed with the appropriate insignia.

I think it's pretty cool and it can really let users show that they are KDF aligned or Federation aligned. This would be quite interesting to the CO/XO of HoK and associated members and staff to stick the KDF theme.
What do you guys think about this idea?

Hi Solace,
This has been discussed at length in the past and while it would be nice to have Klingon ranks, it wouldn't work with the current forum theme. I'm sure one of the engineers would be able to answer this question in greater detail than I can but from what I recall from past discussion, this isn't going to happen.
You can submit proposals via the proposal system or getting in touch with your planetary councillor

This is something that has been raised previously and while it sounds cool on paper, it's unlikely we'll see it any time soon for three main reasons.
- We do not have a complete set of Klingon rank images parallel to the Federation ranks we have. It would take a lot of time and effort for something that a small subset of the community will opt to use.
- We will have to develop a system which allows members to choose which rank set to display. Like creating the images themselves, it will take time to do that.
- Finally, the addition of even more ranks images and/or titles may add more confusion to our already somewhat convoluted ranking structure.
