THE MARVELLOUS ADVENTURES OF LIEUTENANT FLICKY

WHAT'S ALL THIS, THEN?

These are The Marvellous Adventures of Lieutenant Flicky (MALF)! After producing comics for my Federation Council campaign thread, I realized just how fun making them could be. I decided to continue them here, and will be making these comics on more or less a regular basis (I'm thinking either weekly (on Sundays) or twice a week (Sundays/Wednesdays), we'll see how it works out with my schedule)! The comics focus on Lieutenant Flicky (not me! He is a separate character only loosely based on my personality.) and his job in Engineering on the Nebula-class USS Farragut. What adventures will the Lieutenant have? I'm not entirely sure. These comics have little continuity outside of the overarching storyline, and will only be partially story-laden. They're meant simply for your entertainment, and I hope you enjoy them.

#1: WAKE-UP CALL

The Lieutenant is called to duty as his new assignment, the newly rechristened USS Farragut, begins its exploratory voyage.

Wow, verry nice idea ! Ya know, i used to draw comics to, but to scan each drawing... it's a lot of work, beside the scanning and uploading.. everything has to be perfect yet translated to correct English, the footage edited and needs to be cut in the right size... Yeah in my way, i'ts probly gonna take way longer before I could show you something of my artwork.. So, I had put off that idea until I saw this post. It's a really good idea using screenshots ! Dit you do all of it alone or did you get enny help with it ?

Kawamoto, these comics are written, shot, and edited all by me. After completion of a comic, I run it by a few people first to see how people react to it, and change it based on their collective suggestions. If anyone does ever actively help me with these comics, I'll never fail to credit them. Speaking of...

In the future, there will be opportunities for anyone who wishes to volunteer to make guest appearances in the comic, either as crew of the Farragut, commanders of other ships, or just through passing mentions or cutaway jokes. Other times, I may request help in certain scenes requiring more than one character to do complex actions, such as in conversations or action scenes. If that's the case, I will be sure to post here and ask for assistance, and would very much appreciate any help.

Can you reveal what utility you use to add the text and where the Star Trek font came from?

vonLuden, I use Paint.NET to edit the photos, and got the Star Trek fonts from here (LCARS) and here (Final Frontier = Talking Text).

I'm happy to answer any more questions you guys might have. This is a fun experiment, and I'm happy you've been curious as to the process for making the comics.

I'm happy to here that. I will gladly led you a hand if you need assistance, sounds cool to play a small role in the storyline. You can pm me anny time if you need help or ennything. If i start a comic, ill make it about our fleet. But i need apremission to use characters and names of the peaple of our fleet.

Thanks for all the support, everyone. I've decided that these comics will be consistently updated on Sundays, with Wednesday updates whenever I can make them, such as today.

#2: THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF THE DAY

The Lieutenant doesn't have time to sit down to eat breakfast, so he has to improvise.

For the next comic, I'm going to need someone to play the Chief Engineer. All you would need to do is come to my bridge, stand in the right place in Engineering, and do a few emotes. No, the character does not have to be "Lt. Commander [UFP Username]," you can pick the character you use and what you want his/her name to be. It's just required that you wear a proper Engineering-colored Lt. Commander-rank Odyssey uniform (guide here!).

#3: THE LIEUTENANT'S NEW CLOTHES

The Lieutenant reports to Engineering for what he thinks is duty. (This one's a bit Exposition-Heavy, sorry! Everything here is important for future comics, though.)

The Farragut's crew is about to enter its first night shift, and the Farragut's captain mentally prepares to hand over the reins for the night.

Rehosted all of the above comics because some of the panels were disappearing. They should be more stable now, at the cost of looking a little less pretty.

#5: LACK OF COMMUNICATION

The Lieutenant saves the crew from an impending threat of assimilation at the hands of his mutinous Borg Science Officer. Probably.
