75 years stuck on a ship full of mainly men? Screw that. I would have happily taken my court martial and be back out on the field within 5 years (10 for misbehavior.... ), still rocking 65 extra years at home.



... as an honest side note, this was an awesome article! Perhaps a bit harsh, even if I do agree, I do like the presentation. The commentary, the quotes, the builds, the review... all of it! Truly great stuff!

Off the top of my head, it should actually be able to pull off impressive damage numbers with a Science-focused build.

You'd need the Science R&D level 15 trait with over 400 Part Gen (so all 5 Science console slots would be used for that purpose), but you'd be able to get GW and TBR to tick for some rather ridiculous amounts.

Really enjoyed this read, particularly the time spent on the presentation of example builds. I do agree that the Pathfinder design looks great, it's just not enough to unseat my Vesta.

Honestly, I think it's pretty unfair to bring up the lack of a hangar bay. the rest of the points are legitimate, but the Vesta having a hangar is something of a freak of nature that wasn't properly thought out. Every other science vessel doesn't have one; that doesn't inherently make them crappy.

This happened to come around right when I had the points just idling, so I grabbed it. It looks great, but that's all I can give it at this point and really the only reason I bought it. Walking through the interior is pretty fun, but for the price that fun won't last.

I'll definitely have to give the build suggestions a try and see how it goes in extending the "new car smell" feeling.

Hah, I wasn't expecting to see my quote used! It does still sum up my feelings on it. I will admit that I liked the Aero for its fancy stuff and Pathfinder costume is truly one of the best so far. Those are the two very nicest things about the ship.

The downside is that it didn't bring much else to the table. It doesn't separate itself from the rest of the pack via an interesting boff layout, a new weapon, or a creative console ability. In fact, I was expecting it to be the ship that brought Sciflectors to STO, since Starfleet contains most of those ships. That would've given it soemthing.

As it stands right now, other than the Voyager ship inside, it really doesn't have a feature that makes it stand out from the rest. Maybe someone will come up with something, but for right now, there isn't.

Very nice and well rounded article! It's refreshing to see multiple takes on the ship and it's variants from the inside and out. I haven't decided if I'm going to get it or not yet, but this will definitely help me make up my mind.

Glad you guys have enjoyed the article. I had a good deal of fun writing my sections. While she may not be the most powerful Science ship to be added to STO, she is without a doubt the best looking!

One thing I forgot to mention in my section is how handy the trait is! The temporary hit points are incredibly useful, and stack with Attack Pattern Expertise, from the Pilot Tree!

Your probably right there. A closer comparison would have been the D'Kyr. But, as that ship is ancient and very few players fly it, I thought comparing it to a more popular and widely used starship would help readers connect better.

I pretty much got mine because of the interiors. Since I submitted my build for this article, I've tweaked it somewhat in the weapons department - utilizing a Mk 14 GravTorp rather than the Hyper Plasma (I got rather fed up of setting myself on fire!)

I've since mastered the T6 variant, and the trait can only be used in one specific instance - as a healer on a team. Tbh, the trait is mostly of use to PvP support healers or possibly a healer in PvE (although generally, we don't bother with them in our runs).

I'd have to say, I'm pretty in the middle on this ship. I think there are definitely better SCI ships out there, the Vesta and the Scryer being two mentioned examples. However, it does have its own charm, and its certainly not a slouch.

That said, that Aeroshuttle is annoying. In combat, its AI seems hell-bent on running AWAY from a fight, than helping you. Not very helpful.
