The Enterprise - F's sister ship would be the U.S.S. Odyssey even though the Odyssey is the first ship of its class, its technically a sister ship.

The Yamato was the sister Galaxy to the Enterprise D. It was destroyed in the episode "Contagion" (TNG Series 2, Ep 11) by a catastrophic malfunction caused by a virus from an Iconian Probe. This resulted in the collapse of the magnetic seals in the warp core resulting in a warp core breach. The matter-antimatter explosion destroyed the ship with the loss of all hands.

As for another new cruiser - they are popular. Can't say i'm surprised. I'd also love to see a T6 Vesta or even a T6 Luna. That's because I'm a Sci Boat freak.
