Continuing the trend of major appointments and changes to the community, I am extremely pleased to announce that Christopher Halsey will be stepping into the new Head of Community Development role. In this position Chris will lead the push to run social and forum events, as well as dealing with day-to-day member engagement.
The Head of Community Development role is very much the spiritual successor to the Head of Member Engagement (held by Cehus) and the old Secretary of Social Affairs position (held by Lazereth). As such, the creation of this position also means that Starfleet Academy will once more be elevated to full department status. This will be a pleasant surprise to many, as the Academy has a long and rich history in this community. Starfleet Academy responsibilities have been increased so that Recruit Support Officers will also deal with recruitment and project work once more under the experienced leadership of Chris - himself a veteran of the Academy. With SFA requiring a Commanding and Executive Officer, this means that the relevant job postings will be going up shortly.
Also, since I have stepped out of the Federation Administrative Bureau, the lead role has been absent for the past few days. I am now pleased to announce that Jonathan F-G has been made the FAB Commanding Officer and will be leading the department for the forseeable future.
I have every confidence in both Chris and Jonathan. With these appointments finalised and more to come over the next couple of weeks, it certainly looks like it is going to be an exciting time of change for the UFP. Please join me in congratulating our new Head of Community Development and FAB CO.
