    I just recently acquired this ship and I was wondering if there were any advice on its build. I've currently got MK XI Disruptors mounted on her and a very old (like, back in beginning release old) sort of survivability build on her. I was wondering what a more modern way of kitting her out would be.

    If you're level 60-65, those XI weapons are going to be a pain. The good news is that the random junk from filling out rep dailies actually end up being stronger, though the bad news is they're not always the right weapon or energy type. You also wouldn't want to be upgrading those, so either craft, buy from exchange, or farm a mission to at least get XIIIs. Or if have the $$$, buy the Cardie pack so you can load yourself out with Spiral Waves.

    Starter Dragon build as a minimum indication of performance without anything fancy, requires a purple Conn Officer DOff to reduce the cooldown of Tac Team:

    LCdr Tac: Tac Team 1 / Attack Pattern Beta 1 / Fire At Will 3
    Lt Uni: Fire At Will 1 / Attack Pattern Beta 1
    Lt Eng: Emergency Power to Shields 1 / Emergency Power to Weapons 2
    Cdr Eng: EPtS1 / Eng Team 2 / EPTW3 / AtSIF3
    Lt iSci: Hazard Emitters 1 / Science Team 2

    That's more than sufficient for most purposes. You won't top the charts, but you'll also carry your weight in an ISA if you're using Mk XV gear.

    Cannons are meta with the right (read as "expensive") toys, but even if you compensate for the insufficient Tac seating with tricks like Aux2Batt, it's still just a 4/4 weapon layout so I don't know about that. It can mount dual cannons, but I don't know about turn rate either, I recall it handling more like a cruiser than an escort.

    Would you be open to changing your ship from the Aehal to something else? The nice thing about Romulans now is that they can fly their alligned factions ships. (So you can run a Defiant if you wanted to!)

    I've updated the build for you and kept it a semi budget build. In order to get the Terran Task Force Phasers in the Phaser damage type you must progress the reputation to T6. I recommend getting all reps to T6 as you can unlock account wide gear discounts which save a pretty penny!

    The Deflector and Warp Core are from the Fleet Spire and Fleet Colony respectively. The Shield and Engine are from the Competitive Wargames reputation. This is just an idea of what is currently "meta" in STO. If you have any questions let me know Big Grin

    Also side note: Epic(Gold Quality) is the highest quality item you can get in the game. You can get away with these just being Ultra Rare(Ultra Violet Quality)

    Thank you for the advice, out of curiosity why phasers over disruptors? are their bonus abilities just that much better than anything else?

    It has been a very very *long* time since I've done anything competitive. I've played since beta and some of my ideas for how to equip a ship are still stuck in the earliest release period.

    Plus I tend to be a bit more of an RP'er and equip things with weapons they might in the actual show...

    Right now Phasers and Disruptors are the best damage types. I'd take Phasers over Disruptors purely because there is more options for Phaser weaponry over Disruptors right now. Mostly rep gear alternate damage types.
