With AFS, this means everyone can buy ships. I think previous ships will probably stay separate, but from here on out, everyone's going to be able to pilot all the new ships. And I wouldn't be surprised if the hero ship pack that is coming is also part of the AFS shipline, thereby having AFS designs.

After all, why make the Khitomer the only one that is an AFS design? Just a thought though. I mean, that would give everyone 11 ships that everyone can use for all the factions. Selling even more boxes because it doesn't matter what ship you pick, every faction can use it. It would instantly give the KDF, Romulans and Jem'Hadar a huge increase in ship variety.

Also now if they want to introduce a new starting point (like say Lukari), just toss the ship designs into the AFS. Simple, really.

Not like they do that much now anyways...I mean we've seen what...2 new Klingon designs in the last few years and the rest have all been Discovery ships. I mean while the Fed Discovery ships all get 25th century designs not a single Klingon Discovery ship has.

Romulans and JH have gotten even less attention.

That's the reason I bit the bullet and rerolled a Fed toon as my main when I came back and basically put my Romulan into cold storage. I prefer to fly the ships of the faction I play and I refused to put a Romulan in a Sovereign or something like that, so I rerolled. Sad but true and Cryptic even got quite a bit of my money in the process.

I've seen the Bortasqu effect too many times to believe they really want to make other ships besides Fed...don't like the other factions or just want to make lots of money it's still the same...the other factions get ignored.

Even when they promise things it takes them forever to deliver, it took a year and a half to release a single ship, the JH vet ship.

If they don't want to bother with these factions why even make them? Why not just leave it blue vs red? Instead all they do is cut corners and leave the players who want to actually play anything different screwed.

It isn't that the don't want to bother. Market and corp6rate dictates what gets done. 70% of the market is in the Federation. Perfect World wants the most money. CBS only cares about Federation as evidence by the types of shows. The team also has only so many resources to go around.

Add that together and we unfortunately get what we got. Not excusing it but that's the reasons.

The original Devs didn't even want to make a Klingon faction...the things that get released that they say they do on their free time always involve Fed stuff...plus many other things lead me to believe it's more than just greed of their overlords that prevents more from being made for anything other than Fed.

I get you want things to be done in your precious way so that you are satisfied in how things are done. Unfortunately, real world doesn't work that way.

Did I say it was solely because of Perfect World and CBS? ♥♥♥♥ no. I said quite frankly that it is the fact that Cryptic has to cater to majority which only play Starfleet. Then Perfect World needs their money. Followed by CBS enforcing whatever rules on them that they can't break (like ships). ALL OF THAT IS GREED. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. What? You think I just said that ♥♥♥♥ for giggles? Hell no, that's all about greed, plain and simple.

Greed is what drives all of this. If they could get people to actually play the other factions, they'd would then do things for the other factions. And you don't think they've tried? Starting Klingons at level 1, Romulans having their own unique storyline, allowing you to play Jem'Hadar... Oh and none of it worked. Other than Romulans, it was pretty damn trash, but hey, they tried. It failed.

Also you think the 'overlords' greed isn't the driving force? You really have idealistic vision of IPs. Bottom line is greed. Name of the game is greed. If it isn't the almighty dollar moving things, it doesn't work. Yeah, Cryptic doesn't help with planning things strictly for Feds (and even I admit they pamper), but when there's 70% who don't play anything other than that, you've got an owner who goes "loot boxes for oodles of money" in PWE and CBS with "stop what you are doing and insert Discovery into the game", yeah... Kind of see why. Well, you don't. I do, you don't.

Cryptic weren't the ones who were originally even building this game. They ended up with it and so they've been stuck with the hand they've been dealt with. Changing things to blue vs. red? Do you even have any idea of how much work that would cost and the manpower that is necessary to do that? No, of course you don't, because you did, you wouldn't be thinking of it as a simple problem. They couldn't overhaul the foundry, you think they have the resourses to basically end factions. What? You didn't realize PvP is built into the factions, resulting in an entire overhaul of the game. Yeah, they definitely are going to need way more resources for that then for foundry. At that point, they might as well make Star Trek: Online 2. I wonder if PWE and CBS being the greedy bunch they are, I wonder if they are willing to hire like 300-400 people to refurbish it.

So then why am I upset with you to the point where I'm writing this? Well, I saved a person in a wheel chair from flipping backwards and cracking their head on the pavement, thereby aggravating my two injured rotator cuffs and the torn muscle in my neck. As I'm an aspiring developer, I'm sick and tired of hearing of fans thinking that "oh, this is such a simple thing to fix" - and don't you damn well dare say that's not what you meant, you ♥♥♥♥ing implied it - when it never is a simple fix. And quite frankly, I'm just tried of seeing someone say "oh, they cut corners and that's all they do".

Speaking of which. Why did you cut corners with how to fix it? What's the great and wonderful plan you have? Just keep it red and blue. How do they do that? You obviously have an idea about that. Right? Got the greatest of ideas. RIGHT? Oh wait, no. That's why you cut corners and said "Why not just leave it blue vs red". Because if you could provide them with an answer that didn't a) need them to overhaul the entire game, and b) do it in a way that it actually turns a profit, you'd a ♥♥♥♥ing hero! Hell, I would bow down and worship you if you managed that.

You know what though? Just like earlier with Cryptic, the above (two paragraphs ago) is my reasons as to why I'm being this way. It doesn't excuse it, and I'm sure a) this thread will now need to be locked and b) I'm probably enjoying a vacation from the fleet for a week (by the higher ups or just myself because holy hell you've pissed me off). And you know what? Just like Cryptic, I have to deal with it and own it.

Maybe they'd have a better chance at getting players to play things other than Feds if they actually tried? But they don't...other than the Bortasqu uniform KDF hasn't gotten any new original uniforms since heck probably before I started playing...same things with Romulans after the base uniforms and the Reman, TOS, and TNG ones. I know a lot of people would love the Nemesis Romulan uniform but it was never added...hell it's been how many years since LoR and I'm pretty sure they still haven't fixed the bug with the Tal Shiar uniform being split in pieces between the genders.

It's like making a Pizza...cheese pizza is boring...people want a hearty pizza with meat and veggies...cryptic making Klingons start at level one is like adding a little extra cheese. You aren't going to attract anyone else new because you don't have those juicy veggies or spicy meats.

Time and time again Cryptic has gone the bare minimum then act surprised when people aren't happy or in some cases it very well seems like they sabotage so they can have plausible deniability to just flat out refuse to do something.

They did that with the Varanus...they made the ship worse than even the free Fed T5 ships then would point at it as to why KDF doesn't get Science ships

They did that with the Bortasqu...they made a Battlecruiser that was so not a Battlecruiser in anything but name only and when it sold poorly they said this is why KDF isn't getting ships

The Ar'kif launched after the Scimitar...a Tac ship in a roster bloated with Tac ships...a ship with a hangar that paled in comparison with the Scimitar in almost every way. Then use that as a excuse as to why Romulans don't get new ships.

Cryptic has a history of this...I may even be forgetting ships, I don't recall.

Honestly, I really like it. At the first the deflector is very “woah” but I like marriage between the sovereign and galaxy. Still though, I’ll use the new galaxy skin over this..

The good thing is we can use the parts of all Galaxy Class variants on her, I might use the orignal neck and secondary hull on her might look quite good I love the pylons a lot.

I'm not too crazy about the Sovereign-style skin, Would like to see what it looks like with other skins, and the deflector is ill-fitting for this frame. Would like to see how it would look with a Venture or Andromeda hull.
