That does bring up an interesting point though, when the bundle first leaked the Borg ship was thought to be part of it and there were only 10 ships leaked...so is there a mystery ship we still don't know about?

Quick math:

10 ships. Ships are usually 3000 zen. Base bundle price: 30 000 zen. Steep. But the math actually works.

Price of a 3000 zen ship on discount: 2400 zen So, price of 10 ships at that price: 24 000 zen

Price of a discounted 3-ship bundle: 6000 zen. All 3 ships are on average 2000 zen rather than 3000 zen. 10 ships at 2000 zen is 20 000 zen.

Previous 9-ship Mega Bundles (i.e.: Crossfaction Multi-Mission; Allied Pilot, Flagship, Miracle Worker, Command) were sold 12 000 zen. Average price per ship then was 1 333 zen.

Also,

Ship slots come in pairs for 500 zen. The usual sale removes 20% off that price, for 400 zen. So the price per ship slot goes between 250 to 200 zen.

The 10th Anniversary Legendary Starship Standard Bundle includes 10 T6 ships with somesort of facelift and/or visual variant. They also include 10 ship slots. All for the current pricing of 19 500 zen.

At best, 10 ship slots are worth 2000 zen. So, we're getting 17 500 zen "worth" of ship. In that case, we'd pay on average 1 750 zen per ship.

1 750 zen per ship is competes favorably with the usual pricing of a 3-ship bundle on launch discount. But it pales to the established standard of the Mega Bundles.

If individual ships would go 1 333 zen and ship slots go for 200 zen, the Standard Legendary Bundle could go at a discounted price of 15 500 zen and then be considered near-to-equal to previous mega bundles in value.

As is, the price tag of the standard legendary bundle is actually not that outlandish compared to the usual - the shocker here is buying 10 ships at once - but this isn't the best buck-for-value Cryptic has ever given us either.

/u/ambassadorkael Feel free to fact check me, but I consider this a constructive observation of why people could be disatisfied. I think the largest barrier for entry - though - is less the current pricing, but more the perception that people whom already own some of these ships (as a chassis). There's little sense of rewarding loyalty when this overlaps and replaces any previous purchase (i.e.: unlike the usual standard, I don't benefit from having previously owned the Andromeda. The perception is: a new player buying this bundle benefits more than I do).

I personally get that these are, from the systems-side of things, brand new ships. But you'd need to fit to the mega bundles' price ratio - as outlined above - for it to start looking as fair as the Mega Bundles.

I think if the 20K price tag had of been the regular price, with an introduction of say 15K, that probably would have been considered reasonable by many players, albeit on the high side of the spectrum. That would have kept it along the lines of the previous packs and at the same time, these are ships that I suspect everyone knew would command a premium and be a little more expensive anyway, just not to this degree. I actually think that the second bundle shouldn't even exist, as it's basically filled with fluff to get to that 45K non-sale price.

To talk about the ships themselves - the Command Galaxy layout does not appeal to me, it's - to me at least - a missed opportunity to make it something special. It's far from useless, but there's better options out there.

The Pilot Defiant on the other hand is bringing something new to the table - a 5/3 escort layout, though it does trade off the experimental weapon slot for this.

Also, the Dil exchange has spiked up to 470, it was around 440-445 last night. It has already begun...
