Also, while I like that the Defiant gets 5/3 weapon layout, I'm disappointed in the removal of the experimental weapon slot. And I'd rather have a Lt. Commander Science instead of Engineering.

Perhaps a little saddened, going by the Galaxy class I'm guessing the Gal-X will probably be similar stat wise...maybe get a 5/3 instead of being 4/4. I was kinda hoping it would dump the Lt Cmdr Eng and be more Tac leaning but unless they pull out a surprise it may not be.

The removal of the experimenta weapon is actual very good thing since new 5th slot will actually benefit from Weapon buffing abilities and, it's the Defiant even in the show she barely has any scientific equipment or jobs done.

I'm expecting the dil exchange to hit 500 before the week is out (possibly even within the next 24-48 hours) given the way it's going.

If you only had 1 character, then at an exchange of 8000:500, that would equate to 16 zen a day. It would take you 1,219 days to grind that out, roughly 3.3 years.

For the sake of comparison, if you have 13 characters doing the same thing, you could cut that down to 94 days. Doesn't sound like a lot, but if you're grinding that out for 3 months solid, you'd probably not want to look at STO again for years.

And that's for the discounted smaller pack price. It jumps to just over 5 years or 145 days if you take the full price.

I’ve been doing some reading and thinking. I’m going to get the basic bundle because it is a good deal on the face of it, I can’t justify for the premium though because I worry it will set a trend if it sells well. I don’t want every big future bundle to have a hocked up premium version.

I like the idea of a Pilot Defiant. Now, maybe, the Pilot consoles can be fitted to it.
I'm not entirely sure what I think about the nose stickers, though.

Also, Where's the KDF/ROM love?

Hard pass on the packs. I might go after the new Defiant (even though I already have them all).

There's the legendary variant of the ship in each pack and the various skins for it. For the ones confirmed so far, the Galaxy is Command spec and the Defiant is Pilot spec.

Honestly imo just buying the basic bundle only goes to show Cryptic that you are ok with then doing massive bundles for that price.It won't matter that you might buy it at the sale price; when they look at the "metrics" in a month and 1000's of players did what you did and bought X pack it will justify their decision to create such a thing.

The ONLY way to stop Cryptic/PWE literally raping the bank accounts of the players of this game is to stop buying these ridiculous overpriced packs. The only thing that people buying this pack does is give them justification to keep doing it.

I am gonna get the premium as I missed the winter event for cold-hearted and it must have cost around 30k to get one epic token on my fed, and i already spent around 30k zen to try to get another one for my rom. I am gonna deffo get one in the Premium bundle - DONE!
