Is there anyway to try and get specific Doffs. I'm looking for more research scientists and was hoping there was something that addressed that or made it possible.

The Exchange would be your best bet... But make sure to select 'only show usable items' (or whatever the checkbox at the bottom is called) or you end up seeing Doffs of all factions which you can buy, but not use... I fell for that before.

And you can select their rarity as well. Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Very Rare. You can select Ultra Rare and Epic, but the prices are WAY out of whack and there are very few of them out there.

I wouldn't touch anything under Rare, but stick with Very Rare if you can afford them.

As stated above try the exchange, DOFF packs (which can be acquired on the exchange or off the ZEN store). Also try starfleet academy's personnel officer there are some DOFFing missions you can do that take 48hrs but give a handful of varying quality DOFFs.

To continue that - there are also (a rare few) episode missions that dole out specific Doffs. And a few more Doff missions (the colonizing chains being prime) that hand out Doffs. But if you want a quick and 'specific' Doff type, the exchange is best. I can't ever make sense of pricing though. The R&D Doffs are usually much more pricey, but sometimes people don't realize they are R&D (like me... :/ ) and sell them for normal prices.

Thanks for the advice you all. I wouldn't have thought to look at the exchange, and since this is for a very specific Doff, that seems like just the thing I need to do.

If you have excess FC instead of EC, you can always grab purple Science DOff boxes off the Fleet Starbase.

I do that while clearing out my non-VRs by chucking them at the Armada, thus giving me the FC to get more of said DOff boxes.
