I just hope they start to really progress the plot in the next episode. Felt like there really wasn't a lot of movement in this one. Would be interesting if Cryptic adopted the uniforms from the show as the default... which reminds me is STO still prime universe now, or an alternate timeline? There are already some diversions between whats happened in STO and the show. Mars for example.
Knowing Cryptic they will likely adjust the events in STO to conform to the Picard timeline, for example the Romulan Free State becomes the Romulan Republic over the last 12 years. Theres supposed to be some kind of “game changing” story arc coming out that involves J’ula.. its likely time travel shenanigans will occur and change the STO timeline.

Most Likely this, CBS wants consistency in regards to current shows and the fact that STO has actually had actors from said shows in game only means CBS will make them adjust to align with the current series canon.

I agree. I think the quote from Al Rivera about "changing the face of the game" was a hint at the game will slowly change its story line to accommodate the canon in Picard and Discovery etc. I'm happy with this in all honesty, and it would also be nice if they cleaned up some of the older content, and I'm pretty sure some of the older missions may get changed too.

This seems like it's aligning with the direction most TV is going these days: Overacting and dramatization, season-long plots building up to a big climax at the very end, and absurd cultural references that may or may not make sense (the vape which I can't tell was a joke or making her out to be some future drug addict).
Those of us who grew up on and prefer the old style of Trek is likely not CBS's demographic. They're trying to introduce Star Trek to a younger and much less patient generation. They do that by being super-dramatic, one overly simple even if super long plot, making them feel included (MAH VAPES and EVIL POWERS). Good on CBS for bringing Trek to new viewers. Bad on them for trashing Roddenberry's intentions and legacy.

then a funny thing happened a though wouldn't it be great if all this was Picard having an hallucination from some type of disease like Alzheimer's or maybe his retirement from Star Fleet he is actually writing a book and none of this is actually happening ,of course that is not whats going one but It would be a huge twist
All just a dream has pretty much always been a pretty garbage plot twist, though.

I am dissatisfied with the pacing of this show so far. We're about a third through the season, and they're just leaving Earth. I'm worried they're just going to keep building and building only to have some big cliffhanger, and then we get to wait several months for all of the questions they're making us ask to be answered in season 2. I also hate that we've spent 3 episodes with Picard's two Romulan friends, and are now leaving them behind for a couple people we just met.
All in all, I am still pretty lukewarm
