Pimp my Starship

Hello everybody!

So I have a Science Captain running a Fleet Galaxy Dreadnought.

It does pretty well I think but then again I've never been good with numbers.

This is its loadout

and the Captain, (Yes he should probably be Tactical or Engineer, but the science debuffs seem to compliment the tactical ability of the ship.)

I know its not probably going to be DPS League with it being a Galaxy especially with the Science Captain combination but I'm wanting to maximise this ships full potential so I'd really appreciate any advice on where they think improvement could be done. What consoles to swap, should it use dual beams, etc.

Currently the plan is to hit Tier V for the Terran Reputation to get the Phaser version of the Withering procs. I figure the proc that makes a soup of Phaser Damage would greatly benefit its DPS.

Update: Currently using the 3piece Quantum Set for the Destabalising beam. Effectively 4 Shots of Overcharged Phaser pew pew when used in conjunction with SPinal Phaser Lance and BO2.

Update 2: Specialisations are Strategist/Maxed and Pilot/Maxed

If you could list your Boff abilities and Traits we could help you more otherwise this Excelsior Class Build could be moved over to the Galaxy Dreadnought.

That Excelsior build does look like a nice template.

I actually just created a “canon” Galaxy class build for Wallis, since the Gal-X and standard galaxy are very similar ships, you might get some use out of this: https://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/...dd442f4e30044a

This ship build is aimed more at survivability while being able to dump out some damage numbers.

Can I ask, with a lot of Templates, I see the Terran Rep Phasers are usually only in a pair and not loaded in all weaps bays.
Is that because there's a diminishing return or a loadout restriction I am unaware of. I would have loaded her with prolonged beams if there wasn't that 1x beam of the type loadout restriction.

You can only have one Terran Phaser Beam.

The Terran Task Force Phaser Beam is a unique rep item that you have to requisition. Also I should point out that you’ll need T6 in the Terran rep in order to unlock the phaser variant. The default Terran rep beam is Disruptor.
