So basically, if Fleet ship is upgraded - only fleet ship when requisitioned on another character is also upgraded to X but not the regular versions.

I also wonder if there is a way to toggle off the visual cosmetic upgrade?

Also noted the following:
- Ultra Rare token chance will not increase (these upgrade tokens are available only with UR tokens in Phoenix pack)
- In future there is possibility of earning them via events
- Kael pointed out the easiest way to get them is from the Zen store

With this, I'm now expecting the next thing they'll do is a universal specialization LTC slot for ship upgrading. That way, it'll be "omg, I can combine intel with time" or "command with miracle worker". With probably the same price point as well.

The 1.000 Zen is not too high to upgrade a ship; especially if it is a Promo / R&D one.

Personally speaking, I'm blessed enough to afford anything I want. I couldn't care less if it was 5K and I'd still buy it at a point in time. I've spent loads on this game even whilst being LTS at same time, I'll admit it.

But I've been playing games lately and the fact that I can earn anything and everything in-game is spoiling me towards content driven games than a simple "take my money" attitude to enjoy yourself. Sure these games also end-up with a monthly sub fee, but I think I'd prefer a game taking monthly fee and it's players have fair competition and lots of content to enjoy vs. pay to compete.

I just don't agree with the attitude STO/PerfectWorld preaches and what this game has become, but the majority of the people who play this game are extremely happy with how things are and I'm in the minority.

So it's a nice little way for them to make some more money off players but for once it's actually not insanely expensive and is actually a fair price for making your favourite ships even better.
Honestly I can find no real fault with the idea of these tokens and the way they are implementing them; it's a nice chance for them to do something the community feels positive about.

That said though i share Mack's feeling that the game still lacks anything to use these upgraded ships in. Regardless of the cost/grind/time needed to get the tokens; what exactly is the point if all I have to do in game is fly endless repeated TFO's or 20-in-a-row events to get a macguffin??
This game desperately needs some serious content added that is tough enough to be challenging for top end players but also dynamic enough not to be repetitive.

Hopefully the slow pace of new content is due to the focus on Klingon intro content. The first round of stuff looked at least as much a rebuild as a refresh of textures and other graphics, plus they are putting fair amount of attention into new character model pieces. That has got to be a serious burden on Cryptic's limited resources. It doesn't do many favors for the long-term players among us, but it does make for a much better first impression for new players than the experience rolled out several years ago.

I now wonder if a similar "Year of Romulan" overhaul will be in the works since it is just as dated, particularly since Star Trek: Picard featured Romulans so heavily in Season 1 (where's my Romulan beards already!), just like Discovery featured Klingons so much. Hopefully they do, but maybe reconsider the pacing of how they roll that out to be more balanced.
