Cannon scatter volley I on a beam array ? Am i missing something..

The cannon scatter volley is used to trigger the trait 'Preferential Targeting' which gives 100% bonus damage to Beam Overload and Cannon Rapid Fire abilities. The trait comes from the either the Lobi Store NX or the Legendary NX - https://sto.gamepedia.com/Trait:_Preferential_Targeting

Current Suggestions:

1. Replace one of your starship traits for Improved Photonic Officer
2. Replace Beam Barrage for Superior Beam Training (From 6% to 7.5% bonus beam dmg)
3. Swap hangar weaponry for threat control in the skill tree
4. Remove Control Amplification for an extra point into EPG, the only control you have is a single target tractor beam.

Its a theme build in the sense that its using TNG themed weaponry. I could use advanced phasers and the dark matter quantum but I want it to look cannon. Since this ship would normally carry Photon Torpedoes I went with Gravimetric.

TNG themed weaponry? Does your theme only apply to weapons or does it also apply to other abilities such as gravity well, neutronic eddies, and temporal backstep?

You could focus more on EPG if you want by replacing the LtCmd Tac with a LtCmd Sci, the only abilities you'll have to give up is tac team and distributed targeting. Also, tractor beam, unless it's part of your theme, isn't that useful without unconventional systems, you could replace it with subspace vortex or very cold in space.

I've got 2 loadouts, one EPG heavy like you suggested and this version of the build which is aimed more at Tac Pew Pew stuffs
