Already seen how Romulans and Jem'hadar fair after they did this for them, now KDF? My guess after a legendary KDF pack it will be a loooonnngggg line of Fed ships
Ship of the line bundles
Legendary bundles
California class and 32nd Century ships
Basically almost nothing but Fed ships for the foreseeable future, we all know they've wanted to do this for a long time now and practically do it already.
They cater more to Federation side simply because the vast majority of players play Federation toons over KDF. This will likely to be the case until the game shuts down. If you were a game dev wouldn't you put out more content for the vast majority of your playerbase and hence make more money? Or would you cater to the minority of players?

Maybe if they haven't shown a massive bias since the game launched there would be more players on the KDF side
But since then KDF has been treated horribly and lost everything that was exclusive to them...Feds have gotten 2 fractions and they couldn't even give the KDF 1
Who can blame people for not wanting to play the neglected faction...it took 11 years just to get Klingons some hair styles that aren't dreadlocks.
Lets not forget the Bortasqu effect...the Devs haven't cared about Klingons and it shows!
Not really looking forward to seeing Connies and Galaxy class, etc. ships in orbit of Qo'noS.
Though to allow cross faction teaming in the future would be welcome.
The KDF faction was set up primarily for PVP, and both have been neglected for a long time.
Will be interesting to see what happens this year...
It is a bit disappointing that they are pulling the trait/console boxes instead of just faction-unlocking those too. The ships holding these are fantastically expensive but you almost never see people flying the ships themselves. That is a massive investment of time and energy for invisible stat modifiers and maybe a toolbar button to click every now and then.
It is perfectly possible to build a ship capable of running any content in the game without this stuff and there is no real reward for blasting out a million DPS ISE runs when all is said and done. While some people are understandably upset now, maybe in the long run this will end the "dps>everything else" mentality and encourage teamwork, strategy, and different ways to play instead of everyone not playing an Alien Romulan Tactical officer is playing the game "wrong". That gets old quick and it is no wonder people get burned out in the game.
That said, I am not overly concerned about seeing Starfleet ships at Qo'nos or KDF ships at ESD. This is already a regular sight at New Romulus and DS9, and there are already tons of other cross-faction ships orbiting these worlds anyway. FED vs KDF hasn't really been a thing in game for years outside the intro story arcs. I doubt I will personally swap out anything I am currently flying, but knowing I can make unrestricted Space Barbie shopping decisions without worrying about handicapping some of my alts (I play all factions off and on) starting next week isn't all bad.

That's exactly why they did it...so it is more time consuming
I mean the name of the game is time consumption since they started putting in these long and slow TFO event grinds...the last two they added have so much empty time in them, just sitting around beaming people up (or at the starbase) or doing literally nothing at all while waiting for long timers.
At least now there's no reason for any faction to feel left out in terms of access to anything specific really as nearly any new item or gear will be available equally to all now.
But that was the meaning of factions. To have something that distinct the character from the other side.
